Spring ahead

It started in mid March. Seventeen of us girls retreated to a place tucked far into the woods where not even the techie of tech cell phones could find service.  We sewed, laughed til our sides split, ate and sewed some more. 'Cute' was said at least 140 times and 52 bobbins were used.

The end of March came and so did the cousins. From the cold barren state of Alaska they had high hopes of enjoying the hot dry desert air. Unfortunately, they brought their weather with them. At the last minute, the day they were leaving, the sun decided to show itself. Taking full advantage, I introduced them to our horses and gave rides to the kids. We used my black beauty of course and while she thoroughly enjoyed the attention, the husbands horse demanded some for himself.

April arrived as well as my parents. They traveled with us to Idaho to see our eldest son graduate from college. Anyone who has traveled with my father can testify he is a human GPS and encyclopedia . He kept track of our mileage and was quite entertaining with stories about the imploding of Easter Island, the collapse of Montana in the early 1950's and the Anasazi Indians.

My parents are a darling couple and I love them dearly.
Graduation came and went.
We're very proud of the boy and from the looks of it, so is his wife.
Speaking of the happy couple, things just got better. The following day, and after a year of marriage, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple..... along with 21 other happy couples. To say the least, it was happenin' place to be.
At this rate, Spring is going to be over before you know it.

What terrific times! Some people don't have that much fun in a year! Your dad sounds like mine- he could be blindfolded, flown to some place and dropped off, and still find his way home very quickly.

Great pictures of the horse. He looks so frisky.

Your parents are a beautiful couple and I bet that your father can keep everyone entertained on a long trip.

Congratulations on your son's graduation. He and his wife makes a lovely couple. JB

Beautiful pictures of your horse...I bet the kids loved him. Your weekend away with the girls sewing sounds like a blast. I also love that no one could use their electronic devices. How did we survive without them?

Congratulations to your son on his graduation and to being sealed in the temple. Sounds like a great spring!

It sounds like you have had some fun happenings in your life.

Wow, seventeen women tucked away from civilization for a few days without electronic devices??? It doesn't get much better than that.

Congrats to your son for graduating and to he and his wife for going to the temple. Those are some giant steps in the right direction of life.

Why does the weather do that when people come on town? Our spring break guests did not get the good CA sun they were hoping for. Congrats to your son for both the graduation and the sealing, how wonderful!

You have been Busy...and with all fun stuff it seems.
I think a "girls retreat" is about as theraputic as it can get. FUN !!!!
and company visiting (yeah some work on your part, but stiff fun eh)
and trips.......your dad sounds like a hoot. The wide range of those conversation topics was pretty cool.
Congrats to your son. I went to RICKS too...I refuse to call it BYU-Idaho.
now, let's see what grand times the next few weeks bring you.

What an eventful time! I'm not a Mormon, so this sealing of 21 brides at once is new to me! Sounds like a very loving place to be. :)

Love this story! I'm assuming it's understood that those brides were each sealed to a separate husband...
