Meeting in the middle

A ten hour drive seemed to long for a short weekend so the husband and I met our son and his family half way. They drove 5 hours our way and we drove 5 hours their way and ended up in the middle. I reserved adjoining rooms at a hotel where those little twin babies can crawl back and forth from room to room.
They did in fact like our room better due to the fun toys Grandma brought.
The husband and son brought their bikes, because everyone likes to get up before the break of dawn to go riding right?
As for me, the boys and their mama we enjoyed hanging out and playing.
After the men folk returned we gathered up and toured an old state penitentiary
Where we found a couple of jail birds,
So we took them with us.
They really enjoyed their freedom
exploring the great outdoors and climbing on Grandpa.
The following day we went to the farmers market in the morning,
the state fair in the afternoon.
and later celebrated our daughter in laws birthday.
We also played in the pool
where a whole lotta of splashing and laughing took place.
But as all good things must come to an end, we ate our last breakfast together
and said our goodbyes,
Until we meet again.

Looks like you all had a great visit. You are a super grandma, for bringing the coolest toys for the boys to play with. :)

What a grand time you must have had. Love the idea of meeting in the middle, kind of a nice getaway for both families.

Can those grandbabies get any cuter? And can a grandmas smile any broader? You looks so good as a grandma.

Fun trip! Grandmas always have the best toys.

Love the twins, but glad I never had to raise two babies at a time! That seems hard, even though quite wonderful. I just got a new grandson, and will be flying down to see him tomorrow. I figured I would take my last son for a week to see family before he goes into the MTC.

I'm so glad that you could get all together to see the twins. It looks like it was well worth it. Where's there's a will, there's a way. Well done for sharing the long distance travel.

Hugs,
JB
