Our first born is a handy dandy dog guru and part of what he does, besides college and being a police officer, is train dogs. I can't say he's appalled when he comes home to visit and sees how we have spoiled our canine creatures, but I do think he turns the other cheek when it comes to our puppy parenting skills and appreciates the customers that actually want well behaved dogs and seek his guidance.
One thing he did do for two of our boys, that's what we call them...our boys, is give them new dog bowls. These bowls are designed to help slow down the eating process from gorging to actually chewing.

These adorable doggies turn into sharks in blood infested waters when it comes to eating. They attack their food and gobble it down like no other. Oskar our Miniature Schnauzer inhales his food without chewing and sometimes a kibble will go down the wrong pipe and he'll start coughing and hacking. Archie the Beagle drives his nose into his bowl, and like a vacuum, sucks up every last kibble.
In less than a minute, the feeding frenzy is over.
Now there's a new bowl in town specifically designed for gobblers.
The cones in the middle force the dog to work at eating.
It's an excellent invention and has done wonders for our chow hounds.
Gee if they could only invent one for humans, as I could have used one during Thanksgiving dinner.
As a result or lack there of, I ended up going home looking like this:
Hope all of you had a happy and fulfilling Thanksgiving!

I have to get one of those bowls for myself. It will make eating Corn Pops ever more challenging! That second hound's picture would make an excellent dog food label - he looks wild eyed and hungry!!! Cute animals! W.C.C.
Yep, that's EXACTLY what I looked like after thanksgiving dinner! I had to go sleep it off. But oh, I couldn't help it. That turkey was sooooo good.
What a nifty idea, those bowls. If I had a dog, I'd totally get one! Log it away for future reference since I'm pretty sure we'll one day be doggy-owners.
That is a really great idea. My Sadey eats kinda quick, but she doesn't get much food to begin with so I can't expect much different. This is a great invention. LOL.. look at Archie's eyes!! Cute puppies you have there.
I could use one of those... okay, make it seven of those - would slow down dinner time just a tad :)
Thanksgiving - I cooked and cleaned for two days. Twenty people later and the only leftovers are a few scraps of turkey, some dixie salad, and a few slices of Pecan Pie...
guess what's for lunch?
That is amazing! And yes, for humans - great idea!
Storing this tip away for when we finally pick up our own pound pet! (Cuz the four-legged one who nickers outside takes a bit of work right now :)
What a great idea! For us and the dogs.
Love it!
I like the face lift!!! Glad you had a good thanksgiving :)
Wow . . . I don't know much about doggies, or doggies bowls, for that matter. But I sure do think that perhaps a bowl like that is exactly what I need!!!! You may be on to something here! ;) Hope you had a great holiday!
that's a great bowl
It doesn't matter how many times I see your puppies, I still think they are 'effin' cute!...I sort of have a soft spot for Archie xoxox
I do love that idea. I don't have dogs, but...if I did, I'd totally buy that bowl. I'd use one of them for me for my cereal. I'm wondering...does Oskar get jealous that Archie's name is in the title of your blog??
That is what I look like everyday!

Those bowls are genius! I too need one :)
I agree that it would be so beneficial for us on the holidays. I always eat WAY too much.
BTW, I could use your son's direction with my beagle. :) I am addicted to watching the Dog Whisperer to learn how to train Dash. It's so much work. LOL
Where can I get one...for me
i need one of those for judge! he's terrible. i need to keep up with all these amazing gadgets that i couldn't live without if i had one.
Love the new layout! And those cute doggies!:)
Love the messy face on the first pup. And those bowls are genious!
Check out the bowls for your self at your local PetSmart location. You will find them on the Martha Steward display.
