The Three Little Pigs
"Little pig, little pig let me come in!" growls the Big Bad Wolf just before he blows the poorly constructed house to oblivion. Little pig narrowly escapes and the frustrated hungry wolf moves on to the next little piggy on the market, his brother. The story continues with the angry wolf huffing and puffing and the pigs out witting and out lasting the wolfs wrath.
The preschoolers get the biggest kick out of imitating the wolf and his deep voice, as a matter of fact they love everything about the Three Little Pigs.
We dance and sing to a song by Greg and Steve who tell the story with their guitar blues beat, we paint, color and cut art activities pertaining to the three little pigs and replay the story using flannel board characteristics.
By the time we finish with the Three Little Pigs unit the children know all about the big bad wolf and each individual pig.
I'd like to share an email from a parent regarding her daughters enthusiasm for the Three Little Pigs.
"I'm so glad to hear she is doing well. She LOVES school. She is so angry on Mondays and Fridays when her siblings go to school and she has to stay home with me. We have been so entertained with her version of Three Little Pigs. She uses different voices for the wolf and the pigs, and I had to record her and send the video to her grandparents! She took it to another level this morning when she was hiding behind the couch so I couldn't clean her face off after breakfast. I told her to come out from behind the couch, and her little voice responded, "Not by the hair on my chinny, chin, chin!" It was so hard not to laugh!"
It's comforting to know we are instilling positive behavior in the children.
Now get your jam on as you listen to this video, it's just on of the many reasons why I love preschool.

The preschool age is the cutest. Kids at that age just want to please and they are so eager to learn. It sounds like a lot fun acting out the three little pigs with a whole room full of squealing little ones.
This is one of my favorite stories to read to my children. Preschool age is such a fun age.
when i'm back in the working world again, that is exactly what i want to do. love that story from the mom! so cute!
ellie already loves that story - she just likes getting huffed and puffed. :)
You must have the best job in the world. All that huffing and puffing and singing and dancing. Cute story from the mom of the little girl.
You are awesome! I think you should make Mario Lopez the big, bad wolf.
Very cute version. I can see why the kids get a kick out of it!
I worked with preschoolers while in high school and during college.
I loved it! I don't know if I could handle it now though.. LOL.
I love that story! It's my favorite one to read to my little guy at bedtime.
Don't appreciate you making me feel OLD!!! A long time since my kid has been at this great age. Thanks for the memories. W.C.C.
What fun! Love that age :)
It is a great story.
Preschool is the best age ever!
Preschoolers are the best! I used to help my friend teach a class and I would laugh every day.
Ha Ha...that is great. It would indeed be rewarding as a teacher ( on all levels) to know you are having a positive, happy affect on the kids.
One of my favorites I do with my grandkids is The Gingerbread Man. I get a big kick out of when they tell the "other" grandma she isnt' doing the voices right.
kids really say the cutest things. that story is so funny. made me laugh.
I've always like telling the story of the three pigs. I don't think my ending is the same every time -- but it is always fun. I like your new baby. You REALLY like quilting don't you! I smiled at the ducks too. Is there a separate name for girl and boy ducks or are they all just ducks? Maybe I'll google it -- but I'd stink at jeapardy anyhow. I'd still be going "ummmmm" when everyone else had hit the button.
What a great song! You must have a fun classroom!
I started teaching a 3 year old class at church and they really are so adorable. I hadn't had one in so long I sort of forgot! :)
Too fun! My kids started dancing around the room, laughing an giggling when that song came on.
I bet you are the best preschool teacher ever. :)
Enjoyed the story. Working with kindergarten students creates some real funny stories too. I love to spend time with them, it makes my heart smile.
Preschoolers are just precious and I loved working with them and caring for them...I miss it. I loved that song, made me want to get up and move. Hugs
