I've never paid much attention to the the neighbors cows. They come and go so quickly - which is concerning enough - that I don't want to become too attached.
They've never had more than three cows at a time grazing on their little farm but this year, it's just one. One lonely cow who seems to be more aware of me than I am of her.
Every night we feed our horses and apparently, every night she's been watching.
Moo, Moooooo she calls out. Getting my attention I looked her way and asked, "You mooing at me?" Sure enough the closer I got to the hay shed, the more excited she became. Then I realized what she wanted was what the horses were getting.....hay.
Even though she has plenty to eat in her pasture, I decided to humor her and tossed a small flake over the fence. No harm done, just being neighborly and all.
Well, let me just say what being neighborly can do to a cow. She now comes running when she see's us drive up. She moos all the way to the fence, then she'll do this cute little dance by hopping on her front feet back and forth tossing her head while waiting for her treat.

Ha! This is great. We ended up doing that to a kitty cat once, and now he is ours. :)
Hi Siami, are you sure it's a cow? From the picture I can't see her udder. It looks like a heifer perhaps. We have a friendly milk cow here too, #391.
She has always love her hug even as a small calf.
Maybe your neighbour's cow loves you because you are kind to her or maybe, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. hehe...

Heeheee! I love cows, and yours certainly loves you!
Aww, that's so cute!
I love that she comes running for you. You made me smile. Thanks!
Moooooowwwhhhhaaaa!!!
You are the cow whispherer.
She's got a sweet face though.
Can we come with you sometime and visit the Moonster?
That was the cutest cow-tail ever! I go around creating monsters too. God bless your little mom and baby to be, I am headed for the same thing this week! ;)
Milking those puns!
Ha! Ha! That is funny. A tame cow that loves your hay. Good luck saying no to your adoring fan.
Hey lovie! I got your comment about ya not being able to follow me :( i don't have GFC anymore so all i have are twitter, bloglovin, & instagram. Do you have twitter or bloglovin? I'll gladly follow ya back - like your neighbors cow. Haha, that made me giggle. Animals are hilarious and i love them all.

Lol! That is hilarious and totally adorable too. And yep you are out of luck now. We did the same thing with a squirrel once-- then the next day it was literally scratching and begging at our back door and then it invited all it's other squirrel friends-- oh and did I mention these were squirrels that burrow under the ground? Destroyed our yard.
o my that is so adorable. I hope she is a milk cow though... :(
It seems you have made a friend for life.
p.s. Don't get too attached, she may be your in your neighbors casserole one of these days.
This is so cute! And I love cows--I hope you will continue to feed her! I'm your newest follower via GFC and would love it if you could visit an follow back! Thanks for sharing! http://Menopausalmother.blogspot.com
She is adorable - it's always nice to be neighborly!! We have two bulls in the pasture next to our, I'm not sure they would be so friendly... :0)
I have a soft spot for cows. My dad was a teacher, but he also owned a small farm so we always had a bunch of cows around. The calves are the cutest things ever in a homely sort of way!

That is so funny! You should ask the neighbor to just leave a bale of hay at your house. Just name her "T-Bone", it will make it easier in a couple of months.
By the way, THANK YOU for your kind comments on my blog, I appreciate you.
Would love to see a post of that cow dance on video. :)
What a cute story. Moonster.... ha love it.
I love that you have a moo-stalker lol thanks for stopping by my blog I am now following yours.
Happy Wednesday ;]
This story is cute! I guess you learn how animals behave when you're constantly exposed to them :)
You totally need to video that :) And there's a difference between pasture and PEEEEOOOPPPLLLEE HAAAAAY! Just watch the horses in our field flip out - even with a massive round bale torn apart and scattered, they still come running for the flakes!
The hay is always better in the neighbor's yard! Especially when it's for the horses!
