Hi honey, you're finally home.....

I took my black beauty riding the other day. Not I'll be gone for an hour or so, but an all day affair with a friend. The husbands horse wasn't so concerned at first. He figured no big deal I have the neighbors horses to keep me company. But when he watched me load her in the trailer he got a bit agitated.

(The husband has being doing his own riding...on his mountain bike... with the guys..somewhere in the slick rock capital of the world)

My girl and I were gone for the entire afternoon and she was quite famished when we returned. Once I turned her out her nose went straight into the grass - as for the husbands horse, he was beside himself. His girl was home and he was trying his best to show his profound love by nuzzling and sniffing her back.

She had nothing to do with his affection, eating was the only thing on her mind. He continued pestering and nuzzling her.  She was unmoved. All she wanted was some space to graze. To make her point clear,  she gave him the ol' 'hi ya' karate kick, missing his chest by a hoof.

He got the message and stopped trying to nuzzle her. Instead, he changed tactics acting as her shadow stepping where she stepped, stopping when she stopped.

I had to laugh as I was watching this love sick pony.

When I spoke with the husband later in the evening I couldn't help but mention how his horse was trying his best to get some attention from his girl.

Let me just say, the husband had complete empathy for his beast.

The next morning I received a text from my mountain bike honey:

"Love you, I'm missing you! If I was there I'd nuzzle up to you. And if you kicked me, I'd just follow you around."
