Slumming

The husband and I have been taking advantage of a new movie theater in our area. What's  special about this one in particular, is it's a dinner movie theater. It has the capacity of about 100 plush and comfy seats with an attached wooden arm and a little light up button.

You push the button and a waitress will attend you.

Since the theater serves alcohol the age limit is 21 and over. It's clean, comfortable and sells amazing food. We usually arrive about 20 to 30 minutes early to order our dinner then by the the time the movie starts, we are settled in and dining.

I really see no reason to go to the other movie houses. It's hard to go back when you've been spoiled.

Although there is an occasion, such as the other night, the husband and I decided to go slumming. There was a movie we wanted to see which happened to be playing at one of the other theaters.

The seats aren't as cushy nor as roomy not to mention somebody's crying child who was frightened by the show   ( not that it was bad, but completely inappropriate for a child)

Our dinner didn't come from a menu or did a waitress wait on us, but once in a while you just need to sink your teeth into this:

I would love the dinner movie theatre. It sounds just the right atmosphere for me. I love popcorn and hot dogs too but I can always make those at home. Thanks for sharing how you spoil yourselves. I'm envious of your dinner theatre.
Hugs,
JB

Oooo, I am so wishing we had a plushy theater for adults here in our area. We only have the slumming option. I am going to admit, I am a tad envious right now. :)

The dinner theater sounds terrific! But oh, I have a pet peeve against parents who bring their young children to shows they shouldn't. At any rate, you made the best of it~

What a wonderful idea to have a dinner theater for a one stop date. Ha ha ha, slumming with popcorn and hotdogs. Just don't forget the Milk Duds for dessert.

Connie made me laugh with the Milk Duds comment. Rick and his brother went to a dinner/theater in Portland earlier this spring. They enjoyed it, although it was a bit expensive. We regretfully have regular theaters here and the discount theater as well with it's musty smell... just call us envious. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

I HAVE to find a movie theater like that!! That would be such a good treat for my mother, she would love it.

I agree, it's like first class on planes. Once you've had a taste of First Class you never want to go back to coach!

It's a little hard to go back. I wish we had something like that here.

I've been catching up on all of your posts and I love all of your pictures. Of course, I love the ones of your cute grandbabies, and your girl's camp girls, and your sons and stuff better than the picture of the hot dogs -- but that did fit well with your post! Those are sure some cute grand baby boys!
