Um, yeah, yeah, grandma still needs to finish those don't I.
Back in March I attended a quilt retreat with the ladies I quilt with. It's an annual thing we do together and one of the projects I brought to work on was two pirate quilts for my grandsons.
When I got home, via face time, I showed the boys what I accomplished even though they weren't quite done. Figuring I had some time to finish them I put their quilts on the back burner keeping in mind I'll pull them out prior to the boys summer visit and get them completed.
A couple of weeks ago I was heading to my friends house to do some quilting and as I was packing up my sewing supplies the boys Facetimed me.
Where are you going Grandma?
Oh to my friends house to quilt.
You gonna sew my blanket?
My four year old grandsons had not forgotten their unfinished quilts. I stammered my way through a response knowing I needed to get those blankets done.
Their visit is coming up, like next week so I worked night and day sewing like a madman to finish them. There was no way I was going to disappoint my grandson's.
With three days to spare, their quilts are done.
Now with my task complete, I can focus on those boys and the fun we are going to have when they get here.

Good job grandma! I know they will love them. Have fun.
Your a great grandma. Isn't it amazing what we do for our grandchildren. They will always remember how special their quilts are and how much you love them. The quilts are so cute.
Enjoy your weekend.

Have a wonderful time with the boys! The quilts are cute as can be.
Nothing like pirate's pressure to get grama to dig out her treasures for the grandkids, lol...
Those cute quilts are indeed rare treasures. The boys will love them and they will treasure them for sure. You're a great grandma.
I love your presentation of a pirate ship and a pirate book. Now you need to sew a pair of eye patches for the little pirates. lol...
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I so appreciate you...
After Christmas, James and Daniel returned home to Ottawa from a trip to grama, Daniel said. "Mama, I want to go back to Mamoo's place." and James echoed, "Me Too". lol... It's only a 12 hour drive by car..
Enjoy your two little visiting pirates.
Hugs, Julia
