Practice camping

Awhile back the husband and I bought a camp trailer. The maiden voyage was to our son's house where we parked it curbside outside his front yard.

It wasn't real camping as we used their indoor facilities to potty, shower and eat but it got us down the road to see how our truck handled pulling it.

It also ended up being an adventure for our stowaway cat who hopped on board unnoticed.

After our weekend get away, we put the trailer away for the winter making the maiden voyage it's first and last trip for the year.

With spring finally here we decided to give camping another go around, but this time for real. We stayed in state and really only an hour or so away from home.

There's a horse park that provides hook ups for your camper as well as all the makings to keep your horse safe and comfortable not to mention trails galore to ride on.

It sounded like a perfect start to our camping 'world.' We hauled our trailer but left the horses at home. We wanted to check it out before getting too involved.

Here's a peek into our home away from home.

We brought our cat and dog. We figured since Rosie Kitty earned her camping stripes as a stowaway she deserves to come along and as for the dog, well Oskar the baby needed to get out more making this his maiden voyage.

Rosie proved herself once again and behaved like a seasoned camper as for Oskar, it took him a day to settle in and get used to the camping idea.

We are excited to bring our horses next time as this horse park has so much to offer. I especially like the housing they provide for them and there is plenty to go around.
They not only provide shavings for the stalls, but a bathing station as well.

While we were there they had a clinic for people who wanted to improve their cart driving skills.
I so enjoyed watching them in action and couldn't help myself drool over the beautiful horses.

The husband brought his bike so while he was riding around, I was exploring the trails on foot with Oskar.
During the evening we would watch a movie and play games.
Rosie the kitty took to watching a movie with her favorite person.

While Oskar found his happy place by the fire.
It was a successful weekend. We now have the camping bug and can't wait to give it another go around.
This time with the horses.

You have a beautiful camper trailer. It reminds me of our 19 ft camper trailer we had when the kids were young. The farthest I go now is to my daughter and son in law's cottage at the lake for a few hours a year.

Wishing you a great summer of camping delights.
Hugs, Julia

I love it!! What a gorgeous trailer - all the comforts of home! I can hardly wait to get on the road with our trailer . . . it's been a very long winter. Looks like you had so much fun, and the park looks like a wonderful place to take your horses and just relax and enjoy!!

Can't wait for more fun pictures . . . from future camping trips!!

Sounds like so much fun. My granddaughter is crazy over horses and is taking lessons and works at the horse ranch 2 times a week. She does very well in competition. The park looks great. How great kitty and dog love traveling.

Have lots of fun trips.

I love your camper. It looks very roomy and comfortable. So cute that your cat was determined to go camping with you! Your dog looks like he settled in nicely. How nice to be able to take the horses and enjoy the trails. I have only been camping once, when I was 12. My best friend's family took me along to Gatlinburg TN. I see my friend, Missy George's comment above. We've been blog friends for a long time! We all seem to love cats and dogs!
