Craft Class

The text that made my day.... off:

Neighbor: Zoey was wondering if you have a free hour today to hang out? She would like to come over and create paper flowers with you.

Zoey is her 8 year old daughter, the oldest of their four children.

Last Monday was the school districts day off, something about using a snow make up day. They schedule these days in the event we wake up to a crazy snowstorm.

With this mild winter we are having those days never happened so here we are, using make up days in the middle of January.

Since I'm a district employee I get to cash in on these days off as well and honestly, I couldn't have thought of anything better than creating paper flowers with my sweet neighbor.

I had no idea what she had in mind but she came prepared with construction paper, scissors, tape, a stapler and a sample.

Yeah, this girl is way out of my league but I was ready to learn.

It takes six pieces to make one flower. This little art teacher showed me how to fold, cut, wrap, tape and staple.
Over and over again we folded, cut, wrapped, taped and stapled.
After a while, we took a little break and headed to Subway for a yummy lunch but made sure we didn't dally too long as we still had work to finish.
With 8 under my belt, I can confidently say I am now well versed in making paper flowers.

Oh my goodness - that was something that a little one called you and asked to spend some time with you and I think you reaped the rewards. Lovely flowers.

Hi Saime!

What a wonderful way to spend the day! I love the flowers, very beautiful. Hey, we might as well have flowers since we don't have snow, right?!

You are a sweet neighbor, and I'm sure that she will never forget the day she spent with you, making flowers and friendships.

Hugs and Love,
Barb

Well, that is rather impressive! Quite the flowers. My mind is going through all the possibilities of all the fun decorations. She's adorable. And you are a wonderful neighbor being part of her village.

Your little neighbour is adorable and such a great teacher, don't you think. I'm so impressed with her teaching you on how to make these beautiful flowers or stars. Just so beautifully done. I think you are a sweet neighbour too.
