Since the husband and I have been snowshoeing I knew our Miniature Schnauzer would love to go.
Going for walks is his thing and with all the snow we've been having lately its been a bit confining for him especially since he sees us leave without him.
He really makes me feel guilty.
I finally caved to his pleading big brown eyes and took him for a walk and not long into it he was limping due to snowballs and ice stuck to the hair in his pads.
That's when I wised up and ordered him 4 waterproof, fleece lined doggie boots. The instructions advised after putting them on distract the dog with something he loves to do.
For Oskar, the one thing he loves to do is go for a walk so I put his leash and harness on then the husband helped me with his boots.
I thought for sure he'd flick his feet in protest but like a champ he danced by the door impatiently while we got our ourselves ready.
We took him for a small walk to test out the boots and they held up perfectly.
So today the husband and I took him for his first snowshoeing adventure.
He absolutely loved it although, I kept a close eye on him as he is 14 1/2 and there were times he would step into a deep impression in the snow then struggled to get his footing.
I was kinda worried he would throw his hip out so we kept his first trek short and only went a mile.
I'm confident as long as this snow sticks around Oskar will continue to experience the great outdoors as our little snowshoeing buddy.
