We had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family. We met up at the husbands parents house and had a nice little gathering. Our middle son joined us which is always a treat. When it comes to holiday gatherings he's more of a free agent due to the fact he's not married or has any ties that hold him back.
His younger brother on the other hand is on a rotation basis with his in laws. We share them every other year for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This year it's Christmas!
I'm actually so excited to spoil their unborn baby girl with all sorts of girly gifts.
With that being said the minute our middle son left, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I put it into gear and spent the weekend decorating for Christmas.
I've got it down to a science and know where all the Christmas decorations go.
This room has this and that room has that. The Bathrooms have some of this and that. Once everything was in it's proper order and looking festive, I focused on the tree.
I love watching Christmas movies while putting up the tree so while the movie was in play, I carefully sorted the branches of the tree by size then assembled the 'trunk' or pole in which the branches attach.
After the boys were older we stopped going to the tree farms.
I like a fresh tree but I don't like how it dries out so soon and the pain of trying to keep it watered. I think the last straw was when our tree tipped over spilling the water and scattering the decorations.
I've gotten over it I mean, that was like 20 years ago but after it happened I moved on with a wonderful replacement.
The artificial tree.
I love how I easy it is to wrap the lights around the pole then work my way down weaving them in as I add each layer of branches.
I was actually surprised when I had a left over strand of lights. Usually I have just enough but without giving it much thought I carefully added them in.
With the tree lit, next came the decorations. It took me two movies to finish the tree then I saw what time it was. Not only did I go through two movies, but it was 12 midnight.
I put myself into fast cleanup mode when I noticed I had a whole row of tree branches sitting in it's own little pile. They were the last set of branches for the tree.
Oh my goodness I couldn't believe I never saw them but I figured, what's done is done. Back in the box and down into the storage room they went.
Actually, it was probably meant to be. With the extra room under the tree I shouldn't have any problem fitting all the baby gifts I've been accumulating.

Nice looking tree! That is funny that you accidently left out some of the branches. You can't tell at all - it looks great. That sounds like something I would have done. ;-) Exciting news about the new baby! Have a great week!
Good for you in taking the extras back to the storage room! I'm not sure what I would have done. That's because I am a bit neurotic!!
Congratulations on the grandbaby coming! Is this your first?
❤️
the tree looks wonderful as it is, so I agree on the meant to be.. I used to think I wanted to be a free agent, back in 1980 when I got divorced and 3 years of free agent and I never wanted to be again.. I know what you meant about your son and that it has nothing to do with my type of free, it just reminded me I am thankful that part of life is over and done.. so happy to hear you will have a new grand daughter. fill up that space under the tree..
Loved your account of ushering in the Christmas spirit. This was my first visit but I will definitely be back.
The tree looks great and and is cat approved. What more could it need?
Congratulations on the new expected granddaughter. It will be a special Christmas. It will be so exciting.
Our Christmas celebrations used to always be at our house but in the last few years because of bad weather at Christmas, all that has changed. I haven't made any plans and no decorations yet but I'm still preparing myself during Advent to focus more on my welcoming Jesus. It fills me more with peace.
I get so tires of all the commercials about buying this and that. I don't even want to think about shopping. lol...
Wishing all the best with the new little baby girl.
Hugs, Julia
I love how you've got it down to a science....well aside from that extra row of un-needed branches. :) Your tree is lovely!! I also like putting on a Hallmark movie, or just Christmas music. Lets not focus on the fact that I probably have the a/c running at the same time cause it's too hot. ;)
Apply baking soda and water to your plants regularly. Just mix the two ingredients in a spray bottle and mist the leaves of your plants. This mixture acts as a natural anti-fungal treatment. Harmful pesticides can be avoided if you use a baking soda mixture at least twice a week.

Pick up a cellulite mitt and work on your troubled areas from right inside your home. Cellulite mitts have raised ridges and knobs that help promote circulation and blood flow when you scrub your body with them. This then helps your body break down those pockets of ugly cellulite.

It's dangerous, and ways that are much safer to reduce cellulite exist. Only consider surgical options after you have exhausted all other methods to no avail.
