Yes, yes, my poor boys suffered through many botched haircuts and nicked ears before I got the hang of being their personal barber.
The first born had his one and only professional haircut by a barber when he was two. The husband thought it would be fun for them to go on a 'mens trip' and each get their haircut by a real barber. This was my son's first official haircut. I was allowed to tag along so I could take pictures, but since it was a 'mens trip' I was to be camera girl only.
It was a big trip for my young little man, and his scared wet tears was more than a mama could bear. I'm sure at that point I was thinking, I can do this. Really, how hard could it be?
Not that cutting hair was hard, anyone can do it. I've seen many toddlers take haircutting into their own hands. The tricky part was making sure it was even, and of course, not nicking the ears. So I took over the barbers job, at least when it came to the boys, and I've been cutting their hair ever since. Except now, they're all grown and gone.
Four years ago we brought home a cute little Miniature Schnauzer puppy I named Oskar. He became "The Baby" since the boys were going through the alien stage and wanted nothing to do with cuddling, and kissing and hugging. As loving as my new pup was, the breed is very high maintenance and requires much grooming. After his first three professional haircuts, I once again decided to take over and become my dogs groomer. Not that they didn't do a good job or anything, I just figured I could do it myself.
Do you think I have a control problem? Never mind don't answer that. Besides I'm pretty sure I'm getting the hang of it,
What do you think?

I'm guessing you aren't a very good delegator. :)
Its the Oskar Oskar Oskar.
Quite a professional with the scissors my dear sister! Very sharp indeed! Such a handsome Oskar, and the boys looked just as good! :) My poor boy got the bowl cut. It was the only one I knew how to do . . . but I think it was in style back then!!
I'm impressed!
And is that really little E in that picture??? With that white blond hair?! So cute.
Looks professional to me! I guess all those years practicing on the boys really paid off and saved a ton of money. What a cute little dog!
