Houdini's Secrets

The secret to success for magicians, stays secret. They astound the world with their magic and illusions and what makes their shows so intriguing, is not knowing how it's done. Harry Houdini was the world's famous escape artist. He could escape from the most difficult of situations. Straitjackets, handcuff and chains, and his most famous act, the Chinese Water Torchure Cell. One of the elect few that knew his secrets was his wife/assistant,  and....... perhaps his horse.

Yes, Harry's horse. I'm sure after a long day of escaping, he would ride home and confide in his trusted animal. "Horse, I almost didn't make it, that water tank just about did me in. I wonder if I...." Then continued to talk aloud to himself but mainly to his horse about tweaking his technique a little. I can envision him sitting under a tall shady oak tree with his horse standing next to him while he practices picking the locks on his chains. His horse would be ready to offer assistance if Harry was in a bind. "Horse if you could just nibble the chain a little with your lips, that's it, you got it, a little bit more....There, I'm free!

I'm not quite sure if Harry had offspring to take over the family business. But ol' Mr. Horse knew of his secrets and passed them down from horse generation to horse generation.

You may find this a bit surprising, but I'm pretty sure I have an offspring of Harry's horse. My black beauty, as pretty as she is, and don't let that fool you for not having any brains, knows how to untie chains and escape into greener pastures.

She has pawed and busted a gate latch and will untie a knotted chain with her lips. She will work it until she frees herself, and her partner in crime into the adjoining pasture. She is not a trained escape artist, so she must be of the Horse Houdini blood line.

I'm contemplating taking her on the road. Do you think Vegas has room for a new act?

If you started up a show, I'd be first in line to buy a ticket!

Hey, I'm always ready to go back to Vegas for a good show! :) Sounds like you have one smart horsie there, I think it's time for the electric fence. You don't want her running around town charging up your debit card!

That would be better than a white tiger any day!
