She's got rhythm

This isn't my story to tell although I do feel somewhat responsible and since it's funny, cute and slightly embarrassing I'm going to share it.

A mom in church, who recently had her second child her oldest is two, came up to me and told me after she had her baby her mother stayed for a while to help out. During her stay the little two year old got into Grandma's personal belongings and started playing with them.

Now this may not seem out of the ordinary as little children do these sort of things but what this particular child was playing with was Grams tampons. She was using them as if they were rhythm sticks.

How do I fit into this scenario you ask? When I was the Nursery leader at church watching 18 month to 3 year old children, part of our activity was to move and dance using rhythm sticks. It's the preschool teacher in me, I can't resist.

The kids loved the brightly colored sticks and were actually pretty good at using them appropriately rather than hitting each other.

Imagine my surprise when the mom was telling me about her daughter, I mean, who knew we had such a musical child in our mist.

I wish I had a picture, but the one in my mind of this little girl sitting and playing rhythm sticks with her Grandma's tampons is enough for me.

Rock on baby rock on!!

Cute story! It reminds me of the email story about the little girl who used mom's "special napkins" for table napkins when they had guests. Have you heard this email story also? I've had it forward to me several times and I always enjoy reading it!

That is hilarious! A friend of mine at work quickly grabbed a tampon, left the office and returned a few minutes later when she realized she had grabbed string cheese. I never laughed so hard!

I'm totally enjoying the very thought of this... and considering locking the cabinet where I keep anything of a "feminine sanitary" nature.

That's weird. My two year olds always ate my tampons. I guess they are not destined for musical greatness.

That is so funny. I bet there are 100's of stories out there regarding tampons.

LOL I love it! My baby sister passed around a bunch of maxi pads to all of us siblings once...she thought they were packages of fruit snacks.

Hehe- hilarious! My baby still thinks its a giant candy that he can't have, because every time he manages to find them, I take them away so fast. :)
