Craziness

Finally! After missing two weeks of church, a week of work, having two doctor appointments, an inhaler, antibiotics, Tylenol with Codeine,Tessaion and going through more feminine than I care to count (for the stop, cross and cough. Yeah you get the picture) I finally quit coughing my brains out and feel like a normal person again.

So here I am back in the blogging world to show you what I've been doing while being housebound for two weeks. I don't consider myself crafty by any means but I do love to quilt. Here are a few pictures of my past and present quilts (some of them anyway) and a peek inside my sanctuary.

I just finished this one

A closer look, it's called "Shoo fly"

I made this for the quest room, has matching pillowcases
I quilted it with pumpkins and vines

A birthday banner. Still needs the binding.
Before you take a look inside my sewing sactuary, remember this was our oldest son's bedroom. The walls were a cardboard brown as well as the ceiling. You felt as if you were in a box. I had the bead board installed and the walls painted my favorite color, new curtains and shades and whoa la a sewing room it became. Not to mention new bedding and cabinets of course.
Where the cutting takes place

Somewhere to put the quilts
Still don't have the proper table, just not sure what I want yet.
Where the fabric is stored
A window for some natural lighing
An extra bed for visitors

My unfinished projects
Another one I just finished
An when I finally was able to get out of the house, I treated myself to a new purse.

And that wraps up my crazy couple of weeks.

Glad your feeling better. I can sympathize. I've had the same thing for 2 weeks. It grabs ahold, and doesn't want to let go.
Girl, if you can quilt like that you are quite crafty in my book! Beautiful work... that's it.. your talented. I love your sanctuary. I think all crafters (of any type) need one.. oh honey...

You made me laugh with "stop, cross, and cough". I understand!

I absolutely love quilts, but I've only contributed to group efforts. Yours are absolutely beautiful. I have great admiration for you. Wow. They are truly ALL gorgeous.

Absolutely amazing.I am impressed.
Dave's grandmother was a quilter. We have several of them and they are keepsakes. My sis-in-law also quilts when she has time, but being an OB nurse doesn't leave much time to enjoy it as much as she would like.
I am ashamed to admit that when I saw your sewing room, I had a twinge of joy thinking of doing the same thing when my kids move out. :) Oh, wow, did I just say that? :)

Ugh! I am so sorry you have had that crud. I have dodged it so far but I'm not going to brag because sure as anything I will get it if I do.

Not Crafty? Ya, right. Your quilts are beautiful. Now I am a crafter from way back but I could never get the whole quilting thing down. (Although if someone puts the quilt together then I love the hand quilting part.)

By the way, men will NEVER understand the whole "stop, cross, and cough" thing. Sanitary napkins are a must.

My favorite of your quilts is the black and yellow one. So pretty!!!!

And I'm also very glad you're doing better. We went through the nasty cough spell too. (stop, cross, and cough.... LOL!!)

This is "not crafty"... I think that makes my version of REALLY not crafty look a little more like "just stick it in the dustbin and say the kids made the mess :)

glad you're feeling better... I had to "stop, cross, and laugh" at your description :)

sorry you have been so sick. I have a son who has been sick for over 3 weeks.......some BAD bug is out there.
I am still giggling at the "cough and cross" comment.
Your quilting is lovely. I have NEVER put anything like that together. My mom used to quilt award winning quilts at the fairs.

and that purse.......LOVE IT.

So sorry you were sick! And please don't tell me that you did ALL THAT in two weeks? Because then I will feel like a complete and utter failure simply because I managed to do laundry while I was home sick last week, LOL :)

Wow!! You are AMAZING! I love the quilts! I saw some beautiful quilts like that once and bounced over the saleslady to ask the price. I just knew I was going home with one. It was over $400 I think. Ouch. It's worth the money, though, I know!

On another note, do you mind stopping back over to my blog to vote for your favorite Captcha Balderdash definition later today? I don't feel like I can truly calculate the votes until I hear from you! I will understand if you are not able to, but I thought I'd ask. Thank you! :)

You made quilts when you were sick? Well this chick who doesn't even make the bed when she's healthy is appropriately impressed, and they're beautiful too.

My husband's grandmother was really into quilting. It has given me an appreciation for how much work goes into those things...and how they truly are heirlooms. We still have quilts from his childhood, all over our house. Yours are breathtaking!

I literally got through this post with a jealousy knot in my stomach!!! You are fantastic and so talented!!!! I just came from another blog and she was showing off her mad knitting skills. I long for the day when I'll know what to do with kneedle and thread. Your quilts are beautiful. Sorry you were sick, but come on lady, who does work like that when they are peeing their pants! You that's who!
