Forbidden Fruit

The husband and I were out on a most wonderful ride with our horses. With the cool crisp fall sunshine how could we not saddle up our faithful steeds and take advantage of the weather?

As we were riding along we came across an apple orchard that had branches loaded and ready for harvest. As I was eyeballing those mouth watering apples I asked the husband if it would be thieving if I picked one.

He said, probably.

Hmm, ignoring his answer, I mean how could I resist, they looked so fresh and tasty, I guided my black beauty into the orchard and plucked an apple off the tree then asked the husband if he wanted one.

He said no.

All of a sudden an evil laugh came over me and as I giggled I felt like Eve temping Adam with the forbidden fruit. I held out my apple and asked, "why?" Then proceeded to tell him how desirable it looked and how delicious it tasted.

He said, "I'm not going down that road again sister."

I kept laughing and ate the red delicious anyway. Then to conceal the evidence, I broke the core in half and shared it with the horses.

They didn't seem to mind and actually enjoyed it as much as I did.

To say the least history didn't repeat itself, but one could rightly say, if you were to compare me with Eve and all,  the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

That's a great story! Sometimes I think Adam was totally clueless about what he was getting into when he met Eve. He should have stuck with the lions and the lambs...

Loved this story- and I love horses and apples, too. Thanks for sharing!

Yep, all the fault of a woman.

That is great. If truth be told Adam's reaction was probably, "Now I will have to work by the sweat of my brow all the days of my life, thanks alot!"

Hi Saimi!

Loved it! Who can resist a beautiful red apple! No wonder Eve tempted Adam! Like any good wife, she knew that an apple a day kept the doctor away! Sounds like you had a great time!

Hugs,
Barb

Ha ha ha!! Oh I love your stories! This is too cute. I would have eaten an apple too.

I get so jealous hearing about your horseback riding. I adore it but I don't have much opportunity to do it where I live. And the hubby isn't a fan. Which I heartily do not get. (how can you not like horseback riding???)

LOL what a cute post...wish we could find apples like that as we go out on our horses! Maybe you should have reminded him that he might get left behind! ;D

OK, that's funny!
I don't think I would have been able to resist that apple either. They look beautiful.
Besides forbidden fruit always tastes better.
Well....not that I would know from personal experience....but that's what "they" say.

Haha! He would be a lone man in the garden of Eden if he had been Adam, huh? Funny! I wish i had horses and stole apples from people's trees. It's like a wonderland!

Lol! That is hilarious. Sounds like your husband is even stronger than Adam though ;)

I'm pretty sure he would have been chowing down on the apple if he'd lose you for not taking a bite! :) I had some yummy, fresh-off-the-tree apples today too!

Perfect Eve moment you captured there. You're all the wiser for it! Too bad you didn't get Adam to partake.

You ought to be ashamed ... just think what you've done to all equines after tempting them with those apples! The ride sounded really nice! W.C.C.
