Dear Mr. Weatherman,
You've been saying it's going to snow and by your prediction we should have several inches on the ground by now. Yes, I understand it's snowing in the mountains and neighboring cities. Even places that don't normally get snow is getting snow.
I see the clouds looming, I know it wants to unleash those frosty snowflakes but they're really just teasing us. It's January for heaven's sake just snow already!
I was talking to one of my sons telling him how much I want a snow day. Not just any snow day, but the kind where you wake up ready to go to work and you hear the news that the schools have been closed due to snow. Yeah, that kind of snow day.
His reply was, "It's not like you only work three days a week or anything." Righty, right smarty pants, that's true but there's just something magical about having a school closure due to the weather.
He may have forgotten the fun we had back in 1996 when our valley got dumped on with more snow than it could handle. Not so good for the city but plenty good by us. We spent the day sledding, building snowmen and snow forts, making snow angels and even throwing snowballs at each other, not to mention warming up with a cup or two of hot chocolate.
So you see Mr. Weatheman, if your prediction is true and we do get the snow you say we should, I would make good use of my day, not by making snowmen but by staying in, wearing my comfy cozies, quilting and of course, drinking hot chocolate.

I hear you, we are having the same weather, no snow. I never thought I'd miss it after last Spring/winter but I would love some! ;D
Oh totally remember sitting by the radio listening hoping they old say my schools name. I so used to love snow.
I hate snow and even I am hoping we get dumped on. I want a foot at least!!
So far, nada. Boo!
we are waiting for some snow to fall here. We have stopped listening to the weather man. He seems to be on a losing streak when it comes to predicting the weather these days.Sorry Mr.Weather Man.
It snowed for all of five minutes today at our house. I'm glad for the snow in the mountains. The ski resorts may finally be able to open this weekend. We're thrilled with any sort of moisture as it has been so dry.
I think I just wrote the "anti-post" to your post here - Ha ha!!
We got slammed today!! Ugh
However, I also work at a school and wouldn't mind a snowday aka day off work!!!
I wish I could pack up our snow to send to you. I'm not much of a fan of the white stuff.
Korea is the saaaame way. One day it would snow so hard, then nothing. Nada. Zip. And I am the same way as you... the more snow the better for me! Hopefully some flakes start falling at your neck of the woods soon.
Hope you get your snow day.
I on the other hand, have been enjoying no snow. :O)
Oh, we hope you get some snow soon so you can play and have lots of fun in it. Hugs and nose kisses
My son is DYING for a snow day. He thinks it's not fair that we live in AZ and don't get a snow day every now and then.
The hot chocolate sounds wonderful! Tucson is no where near snow. I wish it would.
My children have to get strep throat to get a day off school. Two of them did this week. *sigh*
I wasn't sure before but NOW I KNOW you are actually YOUNG at heart!! I am not a fan of snow but the way you presented your case makes me dream of a snow day too!! - Thank goodness you are not some evil lawyer or I would let your hoodlum clients beat the rap every time!! W.C.C.
