A tea party in the orchard

Our family spent a week in Sunriver Oregon for our annual spring break. We arrived home Friday afternoon, unloaded the car, put the dirty clothes on the laundry room floor and left the suitcases packed. The food in the coolers needed to be put away and my car, oh my poor car. I think we brought every bug in Oregon home with us as they were plastered all over the windshield and grill.

To say the least, I had a ton to do and Saturday was looking like the day for the job except, it was a gorgeous, sunny, calm day; perfect for horse riding.

I couldn't resist.

I abandoned my responsibilities,  grabbed my horse and trailered her to my friends house. Lately my riding buddy has been coming to my place and we ride from there, but this time I went to her home.

She lives in the heart of orchard country and knows the area like the back of her hand. To my amazement, she had the ride all planned out.
We were to ride through a maze of orchards
making our way to her sisters house who lives about six
miles down the road.
Once we arrived, her sister had ice tea and chocolate waiting for us.

As for the horses, they snacked on grass.

About an hour later it was time to pack it up and head out. We thanked her sister, mounted our refreshed horses and headed into the orchard for another six miles back to my friends house.
By the time it was all said and done, with the drive back to the farm, horse put away and chores complete, it was time for dinner.

The husband took me to Red Robin for an over due supper then we came home and went to bed,
it was that late.
Quite the day indeed,
 unproductive,
but incredibly fun.

Oh Siami, you are living the life... Of course, it's more important to go riding on such a great sunny day. You sound so relaxed and I'm so glad you and your friend knew just how important it was to spend some time away from chores. They will still be there when you have time for them.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 comes to mind. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
JB

One doesn't always have to be "productive"..Fun is just as important..Sounds like the perfect way to spend the day..
