Our annual family reunion took place this year in San Diego. Two of our sons drove and our other flew with the husband and I.
While we were waiting in San Fransisco for our connecting flight the airlines announced a $800.00 voucher for anyone willing to give up their seat. My husband and son jumped at the chance.
As for me, not a chance in the world or any amount of money could keep me from disappointing those grandsons. They were picking us up at the San Diego airport and I was going to be there.
The husband and our middle son came later in the afternoon, which was fine time wise. We couldn't check into our rental house until later anyway.
The rest of us met up for lunch then found a neighboring beach to spend an hour or so while we waited for the house to come available.

The men in my life
The weather cooperated and we had beautiful sunny days making hanging out at the beach all the more inviting.

While the big boys played, the girls and I took the little guys for a walk and found a pier to explore.
Even when we deviated from the beach to visit SeaWord and the USS Midway
we always came back and finished the day in the sand.
Two of our son's tried their skills surfing, the other son captured their efforts on his drone.
We explored the little towns and shops, but mostly just hung out and relaxed.
It was a beautiful time spent with family and some great memories were made.
The husband's suitcase was returned to us two days after our flight home. He had while in San Diego, but something went amiss during the return trip.
If suitcases could talk, I'd love to know the story.
