Trying to teach an old dog a new trick....but whose the wiser?

Come on play with me, bark bark!!

Here's the toy, take it, take it!!

Old Oskar our Miniature Schnauzer just stares at this playful puppy who has invaded his space.

Banjo a Cavapoo, part Cavalier Spaniel and Poodle mix, belongs to our son and daughter in law.

They have been spending weekends with us, coming into town and setting up shop with their 'Totally Nutz' kiosk.

First the fair, then vollyball tournaments, a comic con convention, rodeo, Harlem Globetrotters, a hispanic concert and WWE wrestling. All taken place in our valley's Sundome.

While they are hard at work selling cinnamon roasted nuts, we get to puppysit.

Banjo is full of energy and encompasses all that puppies possess not to mention, he's smart, loving, cuddly, soft, and so stinking adorable.

I'm not so sure our Oskar shares the same feelings we do towards this little bundle of enthusiasm.

'Come on Oskar, here's the toy, take it, take it!!! laying it by Oskar's feet.

Oskar will just stand there staring at it while Banjo runs circles around him pretending to get the toy from him.

After a few minutes of running around, Banjo grabs the toy and runs.

See this is how you do it, now you try bark, bark!!

Thats it little one, I know if I stare long enough you're going to grab it and run. All I have to do is wait.

Take it, take it Oskar!!! Banjo continues but the ol' dog just stands there.

In 3,2,1 bingo!

Banjo grabs the toy and takes off.

Oskar watches the puppy run, 'It works every time, now lets try this again.' 

I'm going to stand here and your going to try your hardest to get me to play chase with this ridiculous toy.

Bark, bark!! Come on Oskar here's the toy, take it, take it!!!

Here let me show you again, Banjo barks.

That's the idea kid get your energy out and keep running,

I'm going to take a nap.

It's tough business teaching a puppy.
