My sister invited her friend Ronda, who was once a neighbor of hers to join us. Three girls from three different states came together for a week of sun, sand, surf and pool.
Speaking of pools, we found ourselves settling in quite nicely as our room wasn't ready for us to move in.
The resort actually has about 6 or 7 pools to choose from. I believe this is due to the fact we can't swim at the beach as the rip tides are pretty severe.
Keeping a close eye on the beach patrol, we walked the shore line to snap a few pictures.
The story was about mending relationships and finding love. Ronda opted not to bring the book but found similarities in her social media. To say the least, we had plenty to talk about.
We also ventured into town to do a bit of shopping
and to enjoy a beach where we didn't have to worry about getting swept away by a rip tide.
We found out later we didn't have to travel into town. The venders happened to be right on the beach making our shopping experience very convenient.
Next on my sister's agenda was a catamaran ride where a full lunch was offered along with snorkeling and views of scenic rock formations.
The snorkeling didn't interest me as the thought of putting my mouth on a community snorkel wasn't appealing but the water on the other hand, was incredibly refreshing.
We throughly enjoyed exploring the resort and walking the hilly paths. No matter the direction you are either going up or down.
They do offer rides but the golf carts they drive around in are like being on the Disney ride, Indiana Jones.
If we chose to ride in the carts, we would missed the parietal art on the wall.
We also would have missed taking a wrong turn and discovering the laundry room.
I'll never complain about doing laundry again. They must work around the clock keeping the pools and rooms stocked with clean towels.
The sunsets in the evening were incredible. I can see why it's called the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort.
After a full week in Mexico we said our goodbyes to Ronda.
As soon as we arrived we wasted no time with our next activity. Tacie has a son and daughter in law who lives close to San Diego which made it nice to have had a place to stay for our last three days.
Which by the way, happened to coincide with my departure back to Washington. Not a coincidence, just careful planning by my sister.
The California weather didn't disappoint and the water was surprisingly warm leaving us no choice but to test the waves.
I'm not gonna lie, the waves got the best of us.
We also took in a movie with my nephew and his lovely bride.
To say the least our time together came to an end, it's amazing how fast it goes. Eleven days and poof it's over.
The flight I had arrived late in Portland making a three hour drive home not gonna happen. Luckily for me, our son and his wife live only 10 minutes from the airport.
It was nice to stay the night and spend some time with them the following day. After church they treated me to a yummy breakfast.
I even got to see my Granddog Banjo.
He wasn't ready for me to leave, but after being gone close to two weeks it was time for me to relieve the husband of doing everything else.
He's a good man and I'm a lucky girl to have such a wonderful supportive husband.
