Take that! said the cat

Our Rosie girl has been around for quite sometime now. She's at least 15.
She's pretty much a homebody by choice. Her outdoor experience extends from the house to the front yard, over the back gate into the back yard and through the doggie door which leads into the family room.

When we go out of town we leave her in the garage with the door cracked so she has access to the outside. She has her bed and a neighbor, to whom we are very grateful for, who will come feed her.

Typically when we arrive home she's right back in the house redeeming her place on our bed.
Lately though, she's enjoying the warm weather and chooses to stay in the garage.

Just before I left for vacation, the husband asked where Oskar's overnight bag was. He was planning on leaving our Miniature Schnauzer with his mom for a sleepover and needed his provisions.

I went into the garage to retrieve Oskar's bag and found a little mouse hiding in it.

Yeah, so that little surprise made me scream but after the initial shock and seeing his cute little face with his beady brown eyes I sorta took pity on him.

I mean really, how can you blame the little guy? Oskar's bag was complete with a leash, two bowls, treats and food. I'm guessing it wasn't the walk he was after. By the looks of the hole in the food bag, Mr. mouse was preparing for a feast.

I gathered up Oskar's bag with the mouse inside and set him free in an empty lot across from our house, then I turned to Rosie and chewed her out for allowing a mouse to come into the garage while she's been hanging out.

Rosie how could you?

I can't believe you let a mouse in here!

Seriously Rosie, what kind of cat are you anyway? Do you think your retired from catching mice?

She just stared at me giving me that look. You never know what a cat is thinking when they give you that look.
The very next morning, I kid you not, the husband called me outside and pointed to what was lying on the driveway.

Then replied, This is what you get for dissing my cat.
Yeah, OK  I stand corrected, I now have no doubt in my mind what Rosie was thinking, she definitely made her thoughts loud and clear.

LOL- OMGOSH!!! That is too too funny. We had a mouse that lived partway up the chimney in a hollowed out spot and we could not catch him for love nor money. We finally taped a mouse trap up as far as we could reach-loaded with cheese. Yep- we got him in a couple of days. I hate to kill anything but I did not want a mouse in my sitting room. lol xoDiana

I can imagine Rosie saying, Good grief woman, can't a girl take a day off from hunting once in a while. I'll bring you your dang mouse. lol.

My old cat Leo, would sit in my flower bed and he would stare at a little mouse and the only thing moving was his big fluffy marmalade tail. He was just too refine to hunt the spoiled cat. He wanted dinner from a fancy tin can. I miss that old loving cat.
Have a great week Saimi.
Hugs, Julia

This was a cute cat and mouse story. Rosie probably had the little mouse trapped inside that bag for hours.
