Sew many quilts, sew trying to catch up

Retired life is supposed to give you more time to do the things you love to do and boy do I have lots of things I love to do.

One of which is quilting.

The group of ladies I quilt with meet one Friday a month where we work on a year long project.
Then quilt retreat happens in March which is great for finishing those unfinished quilts.

Once the tops are complete they graduate to shelf with the other tops waiting to be quilted.

If the quilting stars align those lucky tops will get quilted with some pretty design and will be a binding away from being finished and finally placed on a couch, bed or displayed on a wall.

If they are not so lucky the quilted tops will find themselves in a clear bin once again waiting to be done.

I finally realized now is the time, I'm retired I can take the time to clear out the clear bin and start binding my quilts.

Right, like what am I waiting for anyway?

No more do these poor quilts, which have taken so long to complete, need to wait any longer.

Sometimes once a top is finished I find myself not a fan of it and not as excited as I was in the beginning. There were a few of those sitting around so I bit the bullet, had them quilted and completed those babies.

I feel pretty much caught up now and ready to embrace a new quilting year.

This is what our project is going to be. It's called a Cookie Exchange where each block is titled a type of cookie.
It's suppose to encourage us to use our scraps but I have a different plan of attack and have a color scheme in mind.

Should be fun just the same as we are all doing the same pattern but once completed they seem to take on their own personality.

Wish me luck!

goodness gracious Saimi, those ARE BEAUTIFUL! Quilting is becoming a lost art, maybe if more people like yourselves keep at it, more will take it up. I just love seeing pretty quilts, I grew up seeing them on clotheslines blowing in the breezes! HOpe your week is going well!

Wow, your quilts are beautiful. My favorite one is the one with the big star in the middle and the houses. I just love the colors.
Good luck on your next project and enjoy your retirement.
