The cookie exchange

With sewing machine in hand and a bag filled with sewing and quilting supplies draped over my shoulder I walked in to the home of the gal who instructs our quilt class.

We meet one Friday a month to work on our year long project.

When I walked through her door the wonderful smell of baked cookies filled the air.  It's not common for her to bake for us and in the past I was fooled by a candle which had the scent of baked cookies.

This time it was a smell come true. She handed out the next phase of our project along with a little baggie containing two fresh baked homemade peanut butter cookies for each of us.

What a treat.

It didn't dawn on me that she made the cookies to coincide with the instruction sheet. I was too busy nibbling away enjoying the warm cookie to notice.
Last month we worked on some blocks called, 'Chocolate Chip and this month the patterns are called, 'Peanut Butter.'

While the girls were sewing away and chit chatting with one another, I mentioned to the gal sitting across from me how tasty the cookie was and that it's been a long time since I've had a peanut butter cookie.

She agreed and replied it was clever of Annette, our instructor, to use the cookie as a handout to go with our instruction sheet.

Ding, ding! The bell in my head went off and I started laughing, so that's why she made the cookies, oh my goodness I didn't even get it.

The girls join in and we all got a good chuckle.

I think the next time I get my hair done I'm gonna have it dyed brown.

Blonde isn't working in my favor.

brahaha on the blond hair... I love this story. the pattern is really beautiful and your colors are also... mother made peanut butter cookies a lot because she could not afford the choc chips. peanut butter was not 6 dollar a jar back then... you are blessed to be a part of this monthly meeting with friends and learning new things... what do you do with the creations? that would make a great post.

LOL- Nothing like missing the obvious, is there? It happens to me (a true blond) quite often. LOL I don't think it has anything to do with hair color though but then again, I could be wrong.
Have a wonderful Sunday- xo Diana

I guess, you didn't get it because you were seduced by the peanut butter cookie. hahaha. I agree, the cookies were a cleaver idea.
I don't blame your hair color for that. lol.

I haven't had a peanut butter cookie in a long time either. Now I'm craving one too.
Hugs, Julia
