Since we had the boys with us so early on in June the grandma in me was starting to yearn for them. It was time see them again and since our son had five days off the husband and I loaded the camper, and his bikes then hit the road.
We drove halfway, which landed us in Boise, so the husband could try out some good Mt. bike trails he had heard about.
We parked the trailer in a parking lot where we spent the night but not before exploring the area. We hiked around where he was planning on riding.
After he got his bike ride in we finished our drive, found our campsite and settled in.
Then the boys arrived,
With their parents of course and we all went to dinner. I sat in back where the action was while our son drove us to the restaurant.
Prior to our trip I was researching RV campgrounds and found one with a heated pool. This proved to be a hit with the boys and they took full advantage.
When we had them for a couple of weeks in June we swam everyday but the difference is, this time they were swimming around without wearing floaties.
Their mom had them in swim lessons and WOW what a difference it made. They are so much more confident in the water now and couldn't get enough of the pool.
We also went miniature golfing.
Then our son Emerson took us both to see the first power plant in the world that produced usable electricity using atomic energy.
It's called EBR-I and is now a atomic museum.
That may be what they call it, but the more in depth we toured the museum the more I felt like we were on set of the show Stranger Things. I just knew a Demogordon was hiding around the corner somewhere and felt lucky we left there in one piece.
We also saw the new movie The Lion King
As well as tracking the progress of their new house. It's still in the early stages of being built and as all new construction goes, you can always find nails lying around.
Nails are my nemesis. My car tires seems to be a magnet for stray nails so now whether we are on a walk or out and about or in this case, on a job site I'm always on the look out.
I decided to employ the boys 10 cents a nail if they would go around and pick up any nails they see.
As you can tell, they were up for the challenge and the world, er.... job site, is a better place not to mention the few less dimes in my pocket.
They also picked up a cute little kitty who was running around, he wasn't part of the deal but who can resist a frisky kitty?
We mostly spent time hanging around the trailer playing games,
eating ice cream
and enjoying each other.
I sure love summer but mostly,
I love this family.

Now, that's a whole lot of summer fun. It's always amazing to see how fast children grows. Those two have done a lot of growing. Keep up the fantastic grandma stuff.
Good job on the gathering of stray nails. I bet it made them proud and happy to pick them up.
Enjoy the rest of the summer.
Hugs, Julia
The kids are adorable and I can see why you enjoy having them around. The thing that really shocked me was the amount of nails they found. Sandie
That looks like a total blast, good times!!--the outside games, the cards, the movie, swimming , all of it! I love love love being a Ma-Maw....reliving my childhood, ha ha LOL! Glad you came by and thanks about the little dress, I got that for her for her b/day a few months ago. She calls it her "rainbow kitties" dress. There are blue and green and purple kitties on that dress!! So fun! Happy weekend my new friend!
my favorite photos today are the two people stacks at the end. love both of those and they both scream love and family. that is a nice pool. wow on how many nails they found. we had a year of Bob's truck being a nail magnet, he had 4 flats in a year and said he had never had a nail in his tire until that year, about 2 years ago
How very fun for you all. I can't wait to have grand babies!! Very cute pictures of your lovely family. Nails find me too-I loathe them!
What a great trip, and even better---you got to spend it with your family!
They are so adorable. It looks like you are the perfect grandma. One of these days when you're in this neck of the woods, we have to meet for lunch or something.
