After all, they've been pasture ponies far too long.
Giving rides to the grandkids was great but it was time to do some trail riding and put a few miles on those two.We were able to use the Washington State Horse Park which has been booked to capacity most of July and August.
They host plenty of events and when they do, there's no room for us humble campers.
Since Labor day is usually quite around there we didn't want to waste a single moment of having the camp ground to ourselves.
We arrived Thursday and were literally the only ones up there until Saturday then quite a few day riders came in but by the late afternoon they had all left.
Sunday was just as quite but on Monday some friends of ours rolled in with their gorgeous Friesian horses.
What a welcome sight for us as it's been awhile since we had seen them last. I mean, if we were going to share the camp ground, who better to share it with than good friends.
They planned on staying through Tuesday which was a real treat for us because we spent Monday evening and Tuesday with them and their beautiful horses.
Will took the husband for a wild ride with Tavis,
While us girls drove about the country trails.
Gretchen happily pulled us and Teresa and I enjoyed chatting it up.
By the end of our fifth day, we had rode a total of 42.82 miles.
Don't let this girl fool you, she had a great time!

I love seeing horses. It does seem that all of you enjoyed some horsing around there. You girls look as if you are in a western movie, in the wagon going thru the woods. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
That was a perfect camping trip with your good friends showing up with their horses. It looks like you had a wonderful vacation and I bet the horses where happy to share this vacation with you.
Your horses are beautiful, and so are you.

What a fun extended weekend for you. The horses are just beautiful, but I think I can do without the 'wild' ride. ;)
