Earlier today I was over at Kelley's break room having a diet coke and listening to her talk about being a loser her whole life.....of things. She's a funny girl but I just couldn't relate. You see, I'm not a loser...of things, actually I'm quite the opposite.
I'm the one everybody comes to when they can't find anything. "Mom, where's my.....?"
"Sweetie, have you seen my......?" Without fail, I always find what they are looking for.
Why I bring this up is, while I was visiting with Kelley I commented that even though I'm not a loser of things I
have this problem of switching out my purses depending on what outfit I'm wearing. My purse consist of all the basic necessities, short of having the kitchen sink.
While we're out and about, the husband will ask me for a piece of gum, something I usually carry in my purse.
"Oh sorry honey, it's in the other purse." Or perhaps, some Ibuprofen, "Ooh, it's in the other purse." Just last Saturday we were going for a horse ride and I asked him for his set of trailer keys. He looked at me like where's mine. I read his look and said, "Other purse."
So today while I was driving around I stopped at the pet store to pick up cat food, cat treats and some litter. I got up to check stand ready to pay and I couldn't find my wallet. I'm digging around the gum, ibuprofen
Kleenex, extra keys and this time, I believe I actually had the kitchen sink. Unfortunately she didn't want what I had to offer, she wanted money. Well I couldn't even find a spare credit card laying at the bottom, which wouldn't matter anyhow because I didn't have my drivers license to prove the card belonged to me.
Finally I stopped digging, looked at the patient checker and said, "Other purse."

That is Very funny. For that very reason, I hate changing purses.
kitchen sink.why do we women think we have to have so much in our purses eh. "just in case" is my motto.
since marrying my husband, he too is a Looser of all things. It is crazy. I don't know how he survived without me (tee, hee) which I tell him every day of course.
Nice to be visiting your blog again. It is going to take me a bit to "get back into the flow" of things.
LOL that is funny...she got you I am sure! I hate changing purses except for seasonal changing. I am afraid i would be doing the same thing! ;D
I used to switch my purses out daily, to match my outfit, but I've gotten a bit lazier. I still do it a lot, but I'm OK with using my giant black Coach bag for most occasions.
Figures!
I swear, husbands need their own purses.
That's funny.
I have two purses and two wallets that I switch between. It drives my hubs crazy. I guess that cuz he has one wallet and he thinks that is all anyone needs.
You should have taken a picture of the purse with everything in it.
HA HA HA HA. I love that you told the checker that :) I would love to hang out with you for a day!
That's funny! I switch out bags every couple of months. Right now I have a black and white polka dot one. Before that it was a red one.
Totally sounds like something I would do.
I have a problem of leaving my cards (i.e. gas, visa, and Costco) in my jean pocket. Lame. Many times I have had to walk out of a store with my tail between my legs.
Oh my gosh that is stinkin' hilarious!! You just have to laugh at moments like that.
I have a habit of taking my drivers license out of my purse and leaving it in my car when I do things like go to the waterpark with my kiddo, etc...so I don't have to bring my purse along.
Invariably I will forget to put it back in my purse and then when I need it I have to go find it in the car. Kind of a pain. Same issue.
Why do women have so much more stuff to haul around then men anyway?
And this is why I stick to one old faithful handbag (purse) as far as possible :-) What a nuisance!
Goodness Saimi! Hahaha. What you need is a Miche Bag. You just have to switch out the outside. Maybe you have already heard of them, but they are so easy to change out. Ask me about them if you don't already know.
Doh! That that is pretty funny. My mom always switches purses too, me- I am still in the diaper bag stage.
ha ha, we are purse sisters, I knew it. I change all the time too!
haha i can and can't relate. Can relate on the, i'm the person who always knows where everything is all the time. And can't relate to having multiple purses, i only have one...
And thank you for the cyber hug and your sweet words on Monday's post!!!
Leontien
lol! That is a magazine-worthy story. You're so awesome!
Wow I wish you would come and take care of me - I lose stuff all the time. I think I have every tool in the world but if I could find any of them it would be a great day!!! As I recall though - didn't you just like completely dump all of your hub's junk from his workbench once? Hmmmm maybe you should just stay where you are and I will try to get better organized ... I'm not sure I can trust what's in each of your purses? W.C.C.
OH Saimi, I can so relate. I change my purse all the time. It has to match my shoes too.. a but much?
Hahaha!! I loved this story! I always have stuff in the "other purse", too. I am not nearly as well-stocked as you, however. My husband says that I am "supposed" to have Kleenex, Tylenol and gum at all times (and quarters for the boys). I never do! Well, I do and then it runs out and then I don't. Anyway, you know I loved this story! It was nice of you to mention me, too! (I got your note and, of course, I don't mind!)
I guess that's why I never change purses. Too hard to switch. But very funny story, love it.
I sooooo relate to that story!! My grandchildren even tease me about having the kitchen sink in my purse!! I usually win at that game at wedding showers, you know, the one where they give you a list of 100 things, and the one who can find the most IN HER PURSE, is the winner!!
Hugs,
Barb
Hahahahaha! This has happened to my mom A LOT. She has a million different purses, which is exactly why I only have one. But it's huge and I still can't ever find what I'm looking for. You're so funny.
My husband always refers to my purse and miss poppins bag haha :) Its just full of so much junk... all of my purses are! haha happy to have found your blog. new follower!
HAAAAA! You're cracking me up, big time!!!! I'm guilty of the "other purse" syndrome, too!!!! We are so very alike, my friend!
The answer sweet sister is MICHE!!!! Check them out online. I am sure you will love them. In fact, have a party and invite all your friends who like to have different purses, but hate to transfer all their 'stuff' from purse to purse. All your 'it's in the other purse' problems will be solved!! I love you!
I am commenting on your blog.
I barely have what I need when I need it, and I only have one purse. Two purses would totally ruin me.
That's a completely acceptable excuse - she should have given you your doggie needs on credit!
HAHA! Here's MY post on MY purse! http://howthehillsaremade.blogspot.com/2011/07/whats-in-your-purse.html
