I confess, I've got this obsession when it comes to notifications, sounds and haptics. I'm so bothered by all the noises apps make that I keep my phone on silent.
The rings and clicks just drive me crazy.
Sound crazy, I probably am.
I don't need to know every time I get an email or response from Facebook or Instagram or a text by a ring, the little red bubble is notification enough.
Now with the husbands phone, not that he is on social media because he's not, rings and dings at every other little thing.
I'm not dogging him I know I'm the odd man out in this department and since his phone is his business it's more of a necessity for him but at night.... when its sitting on the charger and we're in bed....I can't sleep.
With the volume on high, I hear every notification while he's snoozing away.
Well, in the interest of a good nights sleep and just before I retire, I've made it a habit of turning the volume of his phone on silent.
It works splendidly and so does my slumber.
One night, about after a week of turning his phone down, we were tucked in, I remembered I forgot to take care of the nightly ritual I popped out of bed and mentioned to the husband, " I'll be right back!"
(His phone charger is in the living room )
When I returned he asked what I did so I told him what I've been doing for the last week.
He started to laugh, "I thought my phone was shutting down automatically."
Every morning when he would retrieve his phone off the charger he noticed it was on silent.
I'm like, "Nope it was just me, I'm your auto shutdown. I just can't sleep with all the sounds your phone makes."
"What if there's an emergency?"
Honey, if you can sleep through your notifications, then it's not an emergency and it can wait til morning.
