So much to do, and so much time to do it

With Covid-19 storming the world and everyone advised to shelter in place life has slowed down, sort of.

I have found by cutting out my social life, I have time for a different approach to socializing. It's like the husband has always teased, 'Your social life doesn't have time for your social life.'

Well honey, now it does.

I may not be able to quilt with the girls, take fabric shopping trips or have lunch dates and most importantly go into stores for home remodel supplies but I did happen to meet a gal who lives down the road from our farm.

She has two horses and a friend. Riding is a perfect way to socialize from a distance.
I also couldn't resist a quick day trip to visit Miss Elsie. She recently turned three weeks and I've only seen her once.
She was the perfect remedy for filling my grandma cup.

Then there's Dixies boarding school. It's been fun watching her train while fantasizing of the day I get to drive her pulling a cart.
The husband has also been a helper bee assisting with some electrical projects around their barn. It was nice he had a few young apprentices eager to offer their services had the opportunity presented itself.
We also brought Dixie home over Easter weekend so she could get her first set of shoes.

The horses were so happy to see her. They neighed and carried on giving her a big greeting welcoming her home.

It warmed my heart watching them interact, they truly have missed her.

Before the farrier came my new riding buddy came over and took a couple of pictures of her.

After her mini photo shoot the farrier came. I really wasn't sure how she was going to handle the banging and shaping of the shoes or the hammering them to her hooves.

But she surprised me and took it all in stride.
My baby girl is growing up.

Her two day visit was short and it was time to bring her back to school.  Although I can see her anytime, I miss her being at the farm.
The husband and I have been trying to get a walk in when the wind isn't blowing. We saw this cute little bunny who was very cooperative and seemed willing to have his picture taken before hopping away.
Our oldest son called me the other day and jokingly said they are tired of babysitting my grandkids, I had to laugh and if it were a possibility I'd take them in a heartbeat but for now we rely on Face Time.
With the uncertainty of whats been going on in the world, the one thing I am certain, my life is truly blessed for which I am grateful.

I love your blessings of grandkids and horses. I have imagined how fun it would be to have a horse that would pull a cart/conveyance and you are working toward that. Be well.

you are truly blessed, your grandkids are adorable, all three and I would much rather be trapped on your farm/ranch with horses and lots of space than here on 100x100 lot in a tiny house with a grumpy husband on city streets. yes, I am down and gong down further each day.. I enjoyed visiting your beautiful life. that baby horse is beyond words

That precious grand baby girl and two full-of-life grandsons, plus horses. Seems your shelter-at home cup may not be running over, but it is definitely full of blessings!

Yes, you are truly blessed. That baby girl looks so precious. Hopefully soon, you will be able to take the little princess in your arms. The boys sure are growing fast. Dixie also is looking mighty fine.
Hugs, Julia

This is a beautiful post that brought a smile to my face.
I'm glad you are doing well and how sweet that your horses all love each other? I laughed at them helping your husband.
That baby is just delicious and those boys' smiles are contagious!
Be well.
