Graduation!

I Graduated from physical therapy, wooo, hoo, Friday was my last day. Although I'm happy for my progress, I'm going to miss all my therapist and fellow patients. Each day as I walked through the doors, I felt I was walking into Cheers, the place where everybody knows your name. Remember that show with Ted Danson and the crew? It's just like the song implies, "Sometimes you wanna go where everybody know your name, and they're always glad you came." As I'd walk into the building for my appointment, everyone would turn around and greet me by my name. The room is filled with many personalities, similar to the bar in Cheers. Remember Norm the beer lover, Cliff the mailman, Carla the sarcastic waitress and of course, Sam and Diane? They kept the show interesting with their humor and banting back and forth. At physical therapy, it was much the same with Sean the cute, young comic relief assistant who is always cracking jokes and keeping things lively. Erin, the pretty young newly wed who has a sweet personality and always smiling. Kristy, the very fit body builder, who's biceps would be the envy of any guy. Paul, the owner with a gentle disposition, but don't let that fool you, his workout is grueling. Kim, another therapist, who brings her playful dog to work, and Nichole, a horse rider and trainer.

Then there are the patients, again, "You wanna be, where you can see, our troubles are all the same." When you walk into a place of therapy, that's what you get, a place where our troubles are all the same. Everyone there is recovering from some kind of surgery, so you feel at home. Your not the only one with a defected body part. We would share our stories, laugh at each other or just exchange a certain look as we try to do what the therapist are asking.

I really can't think of a better place to be to rehabilitate my leg, it truly was "Where you would wanna go, where people know people are all the same, you wanna go where everybody knows your name."

Physical therapy really is like Cheers. When McKay was going, everyone would yell out, "MCKAY!!!!" when we walked in the room.

Glad to hear you are on the mend! That looked like a nasty one. I had my first fall a week ago (bucked off!!!!) and am pretty sore in the ribs and VERY bruised on the legs but NOTHING like you went thru!
