Scatter Sunshine

Woke up this morning to a cold damp fog, but since it was Sunday, it didn't really matter, I got myself ready for church and headed out the door. It was going to make a good day to relax and quilt afterwards, but three hours later the weather took a turn for the better. After church, I stepped outside to a beautiful day. The fog had burned off, the sun was shining and it was at that moment I knew I couldn't waste a single ray of sunshine, especially since they've been far and few between lately. While the husband was busy with meetings and church business, I quickly came home, changed my clothes, and headed for the barn. That's right readers, to the barn where my black beauty awaits. Now I know what you all are thinking, and you're right, it's the Sabbath day. But seriously, I can't think of a better way to appreciate Gods creations then to ride the most magnificent animal on earth and enjoy the beauty that surrounds me. Down at the barn, I brushed out my girl and saddled her up. Oh yes it was going to be a glorious ride, and what a glorious ride it was. 54 degrees of wonderful sunshine, can you believe it? I was in awe myself. So I did, I rode what is called, The Scenic Loop. My senses came alive, I could feel the sunshine on my face, breathe the fresh air, and smell the wonderful sweat of my horse. Man I love that smell! After my ride there was still plenty of blue sky to putter around the barn and clean stalls, I even made it home with time to spare for the weekly family dinner. The funny thing is, not long before we ate, the fog rolled in again and the day ended just as it started. I guess you could say it was one of those times where you have to seize the moment, and I'm glad I did.

I too believe that observing the Sabbath comes in many different forms. Glad you had a great time. You deserve some riding time after you were sadled on the couch for so long. (haha did you think that was funny? :)

You took advantage of a great opportunity and I'm sure you were better off because of that. Good for you. I bet it felt good being back in the saddle.

I'm pretty sure that Joseph Smith rode a horse on Sunday. You're fine. Except that you should have stopped by Pemberley. My kids would have loved that. I'll be looking for you the next time the sun is out... you know... sometime in June.
