Faster than dial up?

At school today my computer was slower than slow, which is completely out of character for it. It took forever to receive and send any kind of email let alone open anything up. So as I was in the teachers lounge some of the other teachers were frustrated about their computers as well. I guess mine wasn't the only one not wanting to work today.

As we continued to complain to each other the school psychologist piped up and suggested, why don't we email other schools in the district to see if they are experiencing the same problem.

Humm, my reply, "Wouldn't it be faster if we just called?"

:) VERY good point! The wet weather here (I live in a desert, we're not ready for more than an inch of rain) has caused me to have intermittent (at best) internet service the past two days. It's killing me!!!

Isn't it funny how we immediately think to email instead of picking up the phone?! Pretty soon we wont even need to speak to one another.. we'll be walking toward someone in a parking lot, whip out our phones and TEXT them a hello.

True, true!

And I know, I'm so sorry I haven't been commenting. With all our computer problems and the craziness of the days, something had to give. I've been keeping up with you in my google reader, but haven't been leaving comments. I'll try to do better!

Slow computers have been the bain of my existence the last couple of months......grrrrr!!!! Imagine that, making a phone call instead of email, do we even remember how to push those numbers?

It’s crazy how dependent we are on technology! We were without our internet, our computers and phones for a whole day at work because some construction guys cut some fiber lines. Oops! It was nice and quite without the phones ringing, but we could hardly get any work done because we didn’t have use of our computers. We will be in big trouble the day the eye in the sky falls!

HA! So funny! I'm a big caller at my work. It seems like so much is lost in translation of emails and instant messages, that I am always one to pick up the phone. I know my co-workers get cranky with me, but I can usually settle questions and problems all in one swoop, where they may have to revisit issues over and over going back and forth in emails. BRAVO to you, lady!!!
