We went to their school carnival Friday night. My daughter in law braved the crowded halls as we took the boys from classroom to classroom to play games.
Luckily there were chairs for her to sit down on while we watched them fish,
throw darts, shoot ducks with a nerf gun, ring toss and knock down cans with a bean bag.
The school even went as far as providing pony rides which was a big hit.
Saturday we planned on going to Yellowstone National Park.
It's less than a two hour drive from where my son lives and I have never been so since I was in the neighborhood we loaded up the boys and made a day out of it.
My daughter in law decided to stay home. Doing the carnival the night before did her in and Yellowstone would be more walking than she was ready for.
It's really an incredible place. There are so many sites to see one can't possibly do it in a day.
We decided to take the route which eventually lead us to Old Faithful.
We stopped at all the various geysers and hot springs along the way, and man are they fascinating.
By the time we arrived at Old Faithful we had about an hour before the next eruption which made for perfect timing. We found a place to grab lunch and fill some hungry bellies.
The boys were amazed and captivated when it finally blew and I'm not gonna lie, so was I. Nature is a wondrous thing.
After we saw all we could see we headed home. The boys settled in nicely with their travel activities for the ride back.
On Sunday I took the boys to church while their mom rested and their dad worked then later we went to a park and played for a couple of hours.
It's really a school playground but they like to call it a park.
And that's a wrap.
After few tears, hugs and snuggles at bedtime we said our goodbyes, it's time for the nanny granny to head home.

I've been away on our vacaction and we decided to pass on Yellowstone as we were runnning out of time. I told Louis Dean I would look for others who have been there and maybe some videos on Youtube or such so I could see what I missed. Then I saw your blog!! Thank you! You look like you had a great time. I so wish we could have had an extra week and extra funds to see what all you did - but I did get to see it through your eyes! Now to go back and catch up with you and all you've been doing!!!
