Earth, Wind and Tire

Earth, wind and tire was the name of a team who competed in our valley's 32nd annual Gap2Gap race. I thought it fitting for the course in which our son did all of the above when he ran, biked, and kayaked his way to his third consecutive win in the open men's Ironman division.

In his youth our middle son kept us in the stands cheering him through T-ball,

soccer, wrestling, football, golf and basketball. As an adult, nothing has changed.

The field run 3 miles

Road bike 18 miles
Mountain bike 8 miles
Water course 3 miles
The last leg of the race
5K
Total time 2:27:26 in 100 degree heat

To say the least
we are very proud!

And you have every right to be very proud!!!! What amazing health and shape, he must be in.

How wonderful, in a time, when most young people do not and have not been able to take their eyes, off of technology, long enough to walk down a street.

Yes, you should be very, very proud.

And Thank You so much, for your wonderful comment, on my D-Day post!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Since I am 79 and my husband is nearly 83, we are more aware of such Days in History, than younger people. Which I suppose is natural. We do not like to think about the past, especially when it was painful. But everyone (maybe) knows that famous saying; "Those who do not remember history, are doomed to repeat it."

Again, thank you.

Wow, that is an amazing race - and in 100 degrees!

Thank you for stopping by my blog to say "Hello." How did you come across my blog?

Raspberries are so delicious and really good on a low carb diet - one I am working on. Well, I have to say that blueberries are very easy to pick. We have four bushes producing berries and several smaller bushes not yet producing berries. I have been freezing berries as I pick them.

I am impressed that you are a grandmother. You look young enough to be your grandchildren's mother. I am 52 and do not yet have any married children. I look forward to the day that I get to have grandchildren. I just hope that when that happens I will live close enough to get to see them.

:) Hope

Thanks, Saimi, for coming by the Marmelade Gypsy and leaving such a lovely comment on my post. Yes, Rick is a serious cyclist -- my heart is always in my throat till he's back safely! I'm sorry to be so slow to visit -- sometimes days and weeks are just crazy!
