Our annual quilt retreat rolled around again, it's always the second week of March this time landing on the 11th-14th.
I threw those dates in there for posterity sake since this is another late post.
I wasn't sure if I was totally committed as our granddaughter was due to arrive on the 15 but when I talked with our son he said nothing was happening, their baby was determined to stay inside her mama's belly.
I decided to chance it and go to the retreat. The lodge we stay at is out of cell range but luckily we could communicate through text, I felt secure knowing if my daughter in law went into labor, I would get the message.
With that being said, it was a good decision. She didn't go into labor and retreat was amazing.
These girls I sew with are all so talented and created some incredible quilts.
It's fun to see the different quilts made with the same fabric, I actually can't believe I'm in the same group with these accomplished ladies.
Can you find the matching fabric? This is what I'm talking about.
Another gift that was given was for a girl who loves gnomes.
While we were busy at work, some of the girls were receiving news about the contagious virus going around, COVID-19.
And what I have to say about that is, we took one for the global team and kept our social distance from the outside world.
One could say we were in self containment leaving us no choice but to laugh, eat and get as little sleep as possible.
Not to mention keeping ourselves fit for more eating, laughing and sewing.
It literally snowed only one day. When we arrived the first two days were sunny and crisp but on the third day, it snowed and snowed and snowed. By the fourth day we had accumulated at least 6 inches.
We even heard about the toilet paper hoarding but weren't worried, we were plenty prepared.
Whew, anyone else feel like this?

Hi Saimi~
This is my favorite post of the year!! I love seeing all the cute quilts you and your friends make! The spider quilt is adorable, what a wonderful gift, you are awesome! So glad you had fun, and so glad your DIL didn't have that little baby while you were gone.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your aunt, she must have been an amazing lady. How wonderful that she could be buried next to her favorite little brother, I love that! I wish I was better at documenting my photos, but like you, that's why I blog. My kids will have to make books and use their imagination! I'm not even good at keeping a journal... :0)
I hope this comment finds you snuggling a baby and staying healthy!
Hugs and Love,
Barb
