Back in the saddle and boy did it feel good

Hey Saimi how about we get together and ride?

Oh my gosh Brooke that sounds amazing, let's do it!

With a few choices to choose from we decided to start from her house. Brooke and her family recently moved next door to a winery complete with acres of vineyards, orchards around the corner and a full canyon filled with endless miles of trails.
I couldn't wait, this was going to be my first ride of the year.
I've been spending a lot of time with Dixie introducing her to horsey preschool. We've been working on groundwork, respecting space, lounging, wearing a saddle, in which she was a champ and wore proudly, and anything and everything else a young upcoming three year old needs to learn.

Brooke's invitation to ride was just what my Tennessee Walker Jaycee and I needed. She truly is the best riding horse. With 11 years together, Jaycee and I know each other inside and out and have a solid relationship.
Brooke has the cutest Quarter horse named
Buddy.
Jaycee loves Buddy.  With being a walker she can't help but walk fast, its just part of her nature.  I thought it was sweet she would wait for him to catch up.
We rode over 7 miles around the vineyard and up and down the canyon.
It was a big ride for the first ride of the season
But Jaycee handled it like a true veteran.

Wow, what a fun day! Jacee is beautiful, she just looks like friendly girl, and I'll be she was ready to walk too. I would love to live next to all those wide open spaces, what a great place to ride, what a perfect place for a first ride!

Hugs and Love,

That looks like so much fun! I haven't been on a horse in about 7 years but when I do I love it. Your pictures are beautiful by the way! Glad you had a good time.
