The remodel

Whoa....its time to move. Time to live on the farm.

For 11 years we've been back and forth to the farm to feed the horses twice a day.

Granted its only a 10 minute drive one way but the program is they don't eat together.

One eats in one lot and the other in a separate lot.

A couple of hours later after they are finished, we return to the farm and open the gate between them.

But wait there's more.

Later in the afternoon they get their evening meal, once again in separate lots and you know where this is going. We come back a couple of hours later and open the gate to rejoin them.

For some reason we were doing just fine until we added a third horse to the equation, one that requires a great deal of training and attention.

So the decision was made to sell our home of 24 years and move into the rental on our property.

I love the thought of living on the farm close to the horses,  downsizing and embracing a simple life.

Since the house has been a rental for 11 years we are making some major internal changes. It's getting a makeover to say the least.
The husband has been working diligently removing carpet, flooring, shower stalls and adding lights.
The painters are preparing to repaint the cabinets and doors and when everything is all said and done, the walls.
The flooring guys will start when our order comes in and the tile guy will come when I can get to a store and make a decision.

With this virus going on, the stores are closed making it hard to shop.

So while the husband is busy demoing and Dixie is away at school
and Jaycee is healing from a bum ankle
I'm taking one for the team and following suit in the new norm of social distancing.

This is very exciting; you'll be able to walk out your front door anytime and tend to the horses. Woot woot!!
Best of luck on getting it all done and moved in.

now this is the best example of social distancing I have seen so far. I am loving the view from the back of your horse. and who would NOT want to live there? I think you made the right decision.. so excited for you.. and walking out your door into this gives you so much exercise, walk to the barn, walk to the horses, open the gate, close the gate, lots of exercise and fun... oh yes what about poop patrol, will you get to do that toooo?
