Needing a place to watch the husbands brother, flip, trick and jump his snowmobile during the xgames, we headed over to the neighbors house where we watched him on the big, theater size, screen. Our neighbors have an awesome theater room that, on a smaller scale, would match any movie house in town. The husband had a previous engagement that evening so we only had an hour to watch his brother. With the husband gone, I was planning on spending a quiet night at home quilting. My plan changed once I got settled in over at the neighbors. The hubby left when his time was up, but I stayed. How could I leave? Their movie screen was so awesome, if felt as if I was right there in Aspen. It was after the first night of the xgames when the party really started. The kids and I and their mom started playing Rock Band. I switched off playing bass and guitar with their mom while the kids sang, and jammed on the drums. Now let me remind you, I once toured with Guitar Hero back in the day so Rock Band was very similar and it didn't take me long to pick up where I once left off. Among a variety of choices, we agreed on Lego Rock Band. It was then where my character Nicky Brick and I became one, and we rock all night long. When you are in concert, you lose track of time. We played song after song. It was rocking fun time, singing, jamming and trying to keep up with the colors as they flashed on the screen, green, red, yellow, red, green, yellow, yellow, red, green. You could say, I was in the zone, until my phone kept buzzing. I looked at who could be interrupting a concert and saw it was the husband. He had come home and was wondering where I was. I told him I was Nicky Brick and was still at the neighbors playing Rock Band. He too is familiar with me and the guitar, because he remembers all too well my Guitar Hero days. He knows how I get in the zone. I told him I would be home after one last song, an encore if you will. Besides, my wrist was starting to ache and my strumming finger was also a little sore, I guess I'm a little out of shape. I figure if I'm going to get myself in top condition for another tour, I should encourage the parents to go out on a date so I can babysit.
