The dog sitter

Get this, my neighbor came over today to ask if we could watch their dog while they go out of town for the weekend. It's not all that unusual for me to dog sit friends dogs, I really don't mind and rather enjoy it. But in this particular case, my neighbor is asking me to watch my own dog. You see, they are quite fond of our German Shepard and have made her part of their family. At first it started with the dog hanging out with them while we were gone for the day, then she weaseled her way into their house where she now has her own bed. Apparently she has quite the routine over there. I just learned all of this today. She sleeps inside, after her last call for potty at 11:00 pm, and will sleep all night without stirring until the family awakes. She used to stay outside during the day, but I guess she is spending her days in the house keeping my neighbor company. The only thing she comes home for, if you can call us home, is to get her morning cookie and to eat dinner at 3:00 pm. Other than that, she's next door. Another thing I found out is, she gets an 'after dinner' treat. Thinking 'after dinner' means after she eats at three, but what it really means is, after the FAMILY eats . I casually asked what it is that she gets for a treat, and their young son replied, "What ever we had for dinner." What??? they're feeding her people food!! OMG this is one spoiled dog, they've ruined her. How on earth am I ever going to compete with that, I mean, what are they expecting me to do while they are gone anyway, roll out the red carpet?
Let me just say, she won't be in the house all day, and I can guarantee there will be no after dinner treat of people food, and really, I'm just glad they're going to be gone one night, she can sleep out side for one night, right?? We can't be all that bad, she has a cushy bed by our porch that she used to sleep on and she gets lots of love and attention from us when she graces us with her presence, so please wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it!

Eating people food?!?! After that I am surprised that she is still eating dog food. I guess we adopted out her pups. She is now caring for the neighbors pups (their kids).

I guess for her the grass is greener on the other side :)

I've seen her over there, but I didn't realize she had been adopted. That is too funny that they asked you to dogsit your own dog.
