The Widows

OK, so I shouldn't call them The Widows, they don't think of themselves as such because when you are married for time and eternity, you're never really widowed. Grandpa is just waiting for his girl to join him when it's her time as is Uncle Louie.

So for now Aunt Jan and Granny, who just moved here in November from Anchorage Alaska, are living together in a cute little one story house just minutes from my work. I love it!

Three days a week I spend eating lunch with them, and every Sunday we get together for family dinner. Granny and Jan come from the husbands side of the family, but since we have been married for 24 years I figure what's his is mine, which includes his 94 year old Grandma and his mom's sister.

You read correctly, Granny Girl is 94 years old, has perfect hearing without an aid and her memory is just as sharp. Yep, nothing gets passed that gal so don't even try. Jan has lived in Alaska for 40 years and I've only seen her on a few occasions up until now, I'm really enjoying getting to know her.

I've always considered myself lucky in the in-law department because I couldn't ask for a better mother or father-in-law. I think the husband sometimes feels ganged up on and takes second fiddle to me when his mom and I are together. (Although, he couldn't be more wrong. His mama loves her boy) But now, I feel even more blessed to have his Grandma and Aunt living in the same town.

Who is your oldest living relative?
