Greener Pastures

Whether you're looking for a new house, job, or relocating to a different town, city, or state, there are greener pastures out there for everyone.

For our horses, it means grazing on new spring grass. I trailered them over to our property to treat them to some tasty blades for a few hours. I thought I'd give them a preview of where they will soon be living. We are in the process of building fences to divide the pasture into sections. By next week they will have a new home.

Once I turned them loose, I thought they would charge off frolicking and kicking up their heels, but instead, they immediately started gorging themselves. Jaycee, my black beauty, was ripping and tearing the grass, munching at the same time. Literally stuffing her mouth so full, the grass was coming out as fast as it was going in. I seriously felt like I was watching a hot dog eating contest. She wasn't very lady like.

I suppose I could relate just a little when I, myself, was eating a very Sinfully Delicious dessert. I mean who knows, it could have been my last meal and I certainly wasn't going to let a single crumb go to waste. Jaycee must have felt the same way. Either that or she thought she had died and went to horsey heaven. Regardless, she was chowing!

Our old neighbor and friends found their greener pastures at Pemberley Sadly, the Darcy family moved away. Although I miss seeing them around and having their kids wave at me while I'm cleaning dog poop in the back yard or reaping the spoils of Mr. Darcy's garden, I'm happy for them and their new home. If you would like to take a sneak peek you can go to Quite Contrary She's going through a slight remodel but I'm sure Mary wouldn't mind if you stopped by.

Lucky for us the Darcy's old house wasn't vacant for too long. I can say lucky because the people that bought their house are just as amazing. As a matter of fact, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and post a picture so you can see where I'm coming from, they are more than amazing.

You see, the husband and I are wannabe grandparents pathetic I know. Then comes along our preceptive new neighbors who took pity on us and let us practice our grandparenting skills on their daughter. I did say amazing!

As you can tell, we are very happy our new neighbors found their greener pastures behind our house.

I love horses! And I'm always ready to try out "greener pastures"...sometimes change is good.
Lucky you found someone to grandparent! I hear that being a grandparent is WAY better than being a parent...
