The husband walked through the door after a long day of work to the smell of homemade cookies. Perhaps the thought crossed your mind that I'm a good wife. Well yes, as a matter of fact I am. Except the husband was a bit suspicious, the first thing he said was, "What's going on?"
Why does something have to be going on, can't I make cookies without something going on?
OK, there has been an occasion or two where I needed to bring a treat to some function, or to a friend who needed a little comfort, or participate in a dinner where I'm assigned the dessert. I'll give the husband a little credit for being suspicious, especially since I get protective of my baked goods when they're on their way out the door.
He's seen my wrath when he crosses over the yellow tape that reads CAUTION stay away, cookies are not for you! This usually happens when I've stepped out of the kitchen and he's trying to be sneaky. Even if he remembers to wipe the chocolate residue left on his lips, I've got a count on every cookie and know when he's been thieving. (see Like Father, Like Beagle )
This batch of cookies did not go to comfort a friend, nor was it baked for some function, and yes the husband was allowed to eat a few without his life being endangered. So your thoughts of me being a good wife are valid, but I'm here to tell ya, I'm a better mom. HA!
College boy was stopping by for a brief visit before his trip out of town. I thought I'd send him off with some love from his mama, besides one can never have enough road munchies.

HAHAHA! I LOVE it!
Usually when my husband gets all sweet and mushy, I have to ask, "what's going on?"
Does this mean if I came over for a visit you'd make me cookies too? ;D
Aw! What a mom! The cookies look so good.
Too funny! Cookies around here don't last long enough for my hubby to snack on them. The kids get to them as soon as they have finished cooling. Hmmm...haven't baked any for a while, looks like I might need to make a small stash for myself....lol! You are a great mama, and wife! Nothings better than a mother's baked goods! :)
i get in trouble for making too many cookies. i keep telling my husband he's lucky!
The Husband is a great husband. He has been the best father yet. It seems as though the wife and author of these past two blogs has been harping on the husband a bit. I will say is the best father #1 (which makes all the husbands of you readers 2nd best). I have seen how he treats the wife and writer of these blogs. He treats her like a queen and has been the best role model for me. I want to one day be a husband just as he is. Love you dad!
Those cookies were visual torture! I need one now. I had a hard time getting blogger to let me follow (I'm at work) but I did it successfully finally through Open ID. You're a very good wife/mom - cookies proove that!
Mmmmmm....I can smell and almost taste the cookies! I'll be a college kid dropping by just so I can have one.
My husband would be suspicious too. I don't bake unless they are for me! I'm selfish like that ;) Ok, I'm kidding! I occasionally bake for others.
Well I should not have looked at this on fast sunday--so yummy and so funny--found you on MMB--glad to find a mom with kids raised and blogging
