Kung 'Food' Panda

It's fair time! I love the fair. When the boys were young it meant carnival rides, games and seeing the animals.

Now that it's just the husband and I, the fair means FOOD! We attended the yearly fair the other day and had a blast seeking out exactly what it was we wanted to eat. We passed the carnival rides, never once turned our heads towards the games and didn't step one foot into a barn. We were more like a heat seeking missile and the target was food.

First Stop was the booth that specialized in Greek cuisine. Two Gyros and a Greek salad gave us the sustenance we needed after starving ourselves all day. So with dinner under our loosened belts we were ready to move on to bigger and better things.

Next we homed in on the Elephant ear booth. Those things are big, they had to fold them into quarters just to get them into the bag.

Don't go thinking we didn't see any sights, because we saw plenty. There was bungee jumping, mechanical bull riding, rock wall climbing, paintball shooting, chainsaw art, tractors, fireplaces, log furniture and much, much more. We even saw kids playing in a huge bin of corn....Wait, did I mention corn?

Yep, next on the agenda was the Kettle Corn, you know, the super sized kind. The bag was probably three feet tall. That kept us munching while we walked around some more. We even stopped and watched the Sprint cars race for a bit.

Taking a break from the Kettle Corn, we decided to get a couple of chocolate dipped ice cream bars coated with nuts. While stuffing ourselves with ice cream we browsed  around the photography building and saw some really cool pictures from some very artistic photographers.

Before we decided to peek inside the Dome and browse the aisles we agreed we didn't need to purchase anything. Some how those demonstrators seem to pull us in and trick us into buying their products. We've been suckered many times in the past, but not this year we were going to be strong.

Yep, seen that.
Been there done that.
Already have that.

We almost made it out, almost, until the last booth in which the husband lost all resistance and got sucked into a Gopher killer demonstration. Gophers and moles are his enemy. Oh boy, the latest and greatest way to kill pesky gophers and moles. Our pastures are full of those little critters and will soon be the death of the husband if he doesn't rid our property of them. To say the least, we didn't walk out empty handed.

With the fair ready to close, the husband couldn't leave without a foot long jalapeno corn dog. As for me, I kept eating the Kettle Corn.

Equation: Fair + Food = Fat Fun.

Oooh, sounds like so much fun! I've never had a jalepeno corn dog, but anything with jalepeno in the name has got to be yummy! :)

The only reason to go is for the food. I was a little disappointed in myself this year. I should have eaten so much more!

You must tell me the secret to killing those moles! Especially if it works. We've been fighting them as well. I plant bulbs....they eat them. We aren't winning the battle and my yard looks like I don't care.

Loved the fair as well!
