Grandma's Treat

Every Sunday our family gets together with the husbands parents and have family dinner together. One Sunday it will be at our house, the next at theirs. I love this arrangement, and so do my doggies. They would like it better if it was at our house every week but will settle every other Sunday, if it means they get to see Grandma.

You see, we don't give our dogs people food and what they eat, they eat in their bowls. When Grandma comes over she is the only one that gets away with giving them a taste of what us humans eat. Let me tell you, they know when you say, "Where's Grandma?" They get all excited, run to the door, then to the window and back to the door. When the Grandparents drive up the barking starts...Yes, they love their Grandma, and well, the treats she brings with her.

Oskar and Jimmy are so on to her, Archie is learning....When he was just a puppy we didn't want granny to start him so young, but he's right in there with the other dogs now. As a matter of fact, he is more obsessed with the treats than his fellow canines, but then again, we're talking about a Beagle.
One particular Sunday the family gathering was at our house so after dinner, treats, and a nice visit, the Grandparents were ready to leave. Archie followed them out the door and even to their car, but when they drove away, Archie started running after them baying all the way out of the col de sac. "Baroo, baroo, wait Grandma you forgot to leave the treats, come back, baroo, baroo!" It was the funniest sight I ever saw. That little Beagle with short stubby legs and long flapping ears running as fast as he could, and baying just as loudly, was hilarious! He seriously couldn't believe she left without leaving the treats and by golly, he was bound and determined to get them back!

I guess the one good thing about you hurting your leg is we are now getting some blog posts from you. I have missed your doggie stories. I know there is no good to your hurting your leg but I am glad you are blogging.
