Two weeks ago I had a slight incident with my horse.....The husband and I were just about to go riding on a beautiful fall day. He was mounted and ready, I shut the gate and mounted Jaycee. Just as I turned around to head out, BAM she dropped out from underneath me. What the heck just happened, all I could think about was to get off her fast and see why my horse fell. As I was dismounting and she was scrambling to get her footing, her left leg and mine got tangled. After this split second accident I realized what caused her to go down. Her right foot stepped on a plastic lid to an irrigation valve box, which caved in and down she went so her right leg was in the 2' box and her left leg dropped to it's knee. So as she was trying to regain her footing she pawed my left leg. All and all, it could have been worse. Jaycee escaped injury and I managed to, well..limp away.
Due to my physical job of chasing developmentally delayed preschoolers and our active classroom, I haven't been back to work in two weeks and looks like it's going to be at least four more at that.
The girls that I work with know the story and have seen my injured leg. But the funny thing is, when I called the District Office to check on my benefits and make sure my paperwork is in order for my time off, the gal that helped me already knew that I was hurt due to a "car accident." "Car accident!" What the heck!! Then the other day, I was at Walmart picking a few things up, riding around in the provided scooter, I saw another district employee, she stopped and asked how I was doing and wanted to know about the "car accident."
Not sure where that story came from and maybe by the time I return to school, the story will have grown. Can't wait.......
