The Creature is gone. Aborted, flushed out, cleaned, dead skin cut away and every cup of fluid drained, now my leg can finally start to recover. The problem, is the huge hole that was left. The good doctor is confident that my leg will heal and all will be well, as a matter of fact, the nurse's that have been attending my crater simply call it a, "flesh wound." I guess they've seen worse. I'm now hooked up to a Wound V.A.C. that sucks any unwanted fluid out of the affected area, as well as, promote tissue and cell growth, which over time, will actually close the wound. It hasn't been all that bad carrying around my consent companion because this isn't a temporary devise, I'm attached 24/7. The quick version to a much more painful recovery is a skin graph. Doctor G feels after my tissue is at the right stage, they can harvest skin from another part of my body and adhere it to the gaping hole. With this procedure I will now have another area that will be sore, probably worse than the actual injury. More like a bad road rash or burn for a couple of weeks but then it should all be over with and healed....I'm guessing. So the question being, do I stick with the V.A.C. and let it do it's thing? It's not painful, just more of an irritant and it would take longer, or do I suck it up and go with the pain of another surgery and sore spot??
What would you do???

Oh my goodness Saimi, that does not look fun... I might settle for 1 scar instead of two. Get better soon.
